soon as i feel better ill get in the crawlspace and show the hookups in there.Made a new air handler and re did duct work because original duct work was a mess. Then had to add a thermostatic mixing valve down there. This pervents water from getting to cool and bypassed 40 percent pack to the stove to keep water at the 185 degree temp to eliminate condensation around the water jacket

14 to 16 hours is about right at -30. A lot depends on the wood you use. Seasoned Oak ive seen go almost 24 hours. Seasoned maple about 15 hours and the soft woods like pine popular basswood maybe 10 hours.Unseasoned wood well thats hit or miss lol.Im trying to get caught up a year on wood so there will be a lot of cutting this year but very little splitting thanks to this new beast.

Nice setup Mark. As you're probably aware by now, although you're only adding wood once or twice a day, you're going to burn through A LOT of wood in a year.

It will be shut down for the summer then re fired in the fall.Im burning roughly 18 to 20 cord a year now so im figureing it will be bumped to 25 to 30 a year but free wood is good!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job Mark. That will sure be a time saver and safer since the fire is outside. Congratulations on a job well done. :tiphat: collie

So you pipe hot water, almost boiling to the house, and it goes through something like a radiator with a fan behind it, air handler, that distributes or "pushes" the heated air throughout the house via a duct system???..............NEATO..........Good job and good stuff Bud.....We use a wood stove here and as Collie pointed out, yours is lots safer for chimney fires for sure....So, 20 Face cords? or 20 full 4X4X8'???? Either way, you are right, it's given to you free and with a bit of exercise who can complain...........God bless......Dennis

Exactly.Think of it like a car radiator system but bigger.I used to heat with a fireplace woodburner insert. This is a big upgrade and will heat the entire house instead of one room

So, they're putting the gas line in near me.

Down the road about 1/2 mile, they need to come down the steep hill.

I snapped a couple pics of them moving some of the topsoil back in place.

I don't know if I'd want to be the excavator driver. Look at the 2nd pic. There's 3 dozers on the uphill side tied to him to keeping him from tumbling. The dozers also drag the excavator up the hill.

The 3rd pic is the excavator on flat ground to give an idea on size (JD 290G)

Sorry for the blur. It's a cell phone camera at a high zoom.

Yes excavators dont have the weight or the traction to make the climb.I dont think it is a tumble issue from expierence its strictly a traction issue.Jobs like this bring me back to the days I did this cross country pipelines.

They have several thousand miles of pipeline to install to hook in all the Marcellus wells. They just moved crews in and built a work site about 10 miles from me. From there they will be running lines down into Pa. to tie in. They can't sell the gas till they have the pipelines to move it. There is a 48" line going in east of rt.15/I-99 as well. The smaller ones will tie into it to take it up to Boston and other states. To make the transition of energy sources most folks don't realize how much digging and pipe it involves.

Here's a County sort of near Muley. I'd say they have it covered pretty well.

I don't know how old this is but here's a national map.

I waved to y'all. Did you see me?

Was down in Texas last week. Houston area. Too damn hot down there for me... I was waving out the window to all of you that live in the flight path on the flight back. I would have waved on the way there but I had an isle seat.

Oh Zoom, your not even close to hot. You should of come down here to Louisiana. The humidity is so bad. You actually walk outside. And you turn into a wet dish-rag !!!!
When Ya Returning. I promise to have a "cool one" waiting for you brother !!!!

Went out in the woods yesterday my friend. Had some equipment out. I like to have died. The heat was almost unbearable ...
Killed a big rattlesnake yesterday. 12 rattles and button. Should have let him live and suffer like I had to all day. Just put him out of his misery, I done him a favor and didn't realize it until later that day !!!!
