Blizzard plow on RTV900

Thanks, I could not locate that when I searched on Alcoa.
This said I am having second thoughts and now leaning to the Meyer Drive Pro. It looks like it is built tougher - 14 gauge moldboard vs 16; 6 vertical ribs instead of 4; lift cylinder looks huge. Longer warranty too.
...

    Blizzard plow on RTV900

OK so I am really close to pulling the trigger on a Blizzard plow for my RTV900. The Kanlan V plow hydraulics use the cubby where my winch is mounted (the standard spot) and I can't figure out where else I would put it. Interestingly it was not that much more money, but I don't need the V more...

Blizzard plow mounts OK with winch in place?

Meyer has a new offering but so far the Blizzard LT looks like the way to go. Hard to get much detailed info from Kanlan. And no-one here seems to have actually used or owned an Kanlan plow. Now real question is whether to get the 680LT or the 720LT? Unless my dealer surprises me with a great...

    WINCH TIME!!WARN XT30 OR RT30

Thanks. Everything is reasonably protected. The contactor is mounted under the seat behind the radiator so it sheltered from all sides. I am not about to try driving through deep water. The antenna sits relatively exposed between the rear of the seat and the dump bed but it looks OK for that...

    WINCH TIME!!WARN XT30 OR RT30

I have been very happy with the Warn XT40. It has basically worked as advertised. I have used it to unstuck the RTV in snow, pull logs up a stream bank and pull a friend's BMW 5 series wagon up the iced incline of our driveway when it became hopelessly stuck. The Kubota will get dragged to the...

    WINCH TIME!!WARN XT30 OR RT30

In addition to the synthetic line, the remote is very useful and a good safety feature allowing you to get a good view of what you are moving from a safe spot. Don't forget to watch the RTV too because it can get dragged. I got the xt40 for the extra margin of durability- if you start reading...

Blizzard plow mounts OK with winch in place?

Thanks for answering about the winch. Forgot to mention I also have the nudge bar, though I would not really miss it. Do you think the Kanlan is just as quick to put on and remove?

Blizzard plow mounts OK with winch in place?

Does anyone have both a winch mounted in the "pocket" and a Blizzard LT680 or LT720 on their RTV 900?
We finally got fed up with plow services damaging the driveway, lawn, trees, stone walls, etc that we are breaking down and getting a plow for the Kubota. Driveway is not long, but just a...

    torgue and power RTV 900

People on this site have reported that the RTV900 is sensitive to the type of hydraulic fluid. Try checking into that first. How are you measuring speed? This is not a fast vehicle, but try to measure speed with a handheld GPS.

    bolt sizes

Yes, I found out after posting the question by widening my search to all Kubota and found this on Tractorbynet:

<table width="100%"...

    bolt sizes

Are Kubota bolts metric or fractional inches? I started removing the four bolts holding securing the winch plate to the frame held by what I thought were 9/16" inch bolts. Really tight. 3 loosed up fine, the fourth bolt just got "rounded" by the socket. Hope I can go at it from below in the...

Frozen cables for Pressure Release valve and Diff Lock hold

Yes- I cannot pull either knob in sub-freezing conditions at all. Never drove the Kubota through any water. The work around is to warm the engine and tranny up completely, use the brake and make sure to be on level ground and like you said, give it a few seconds to "relax".
I think I will...

Frozen cables for Pressure Release valve and Diff Lock hold

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem when the temp drops into the 20-28 or below. My RTV 900 was bought new this fall and I will get the dealer to correct the problem in my upcoming included 50 hour service if we can figure out the fix. I am thinking that there is moisture in...

    RTV900 steep hill advice

The hill ended up being no problem at all. It feels much steeper than it looks in the photo, but the trees give some idea. Hills are very hard to read in photos- someone on the site said that they never look as steep as they look in person and they are right. 4WD and diff lock was needed on the...

    Trailer Safety Chain

I am wondering what everyone else does to attach a safety chain when towing a utility trailer or chipper. I don't want to wrap the chains around the Kubota axle and scrape the paint off so I ordered a set of vinyl coat safety cables. Make sense? Also ordered a pipe mount jacking stand to replace...

    RTV900 steep hill advice

bc, I am just outside the South East corner of Catskill State Park and sadly, truth be told, in NYC most of the week, most weeks.
Got to say that one day I am going to build a copy of your dump bed- it's the best one I have seen for hauling rough stuff like stones to build some walls. For...

    RTV900 steep hill advice

Thanks bczoom. Though this group I became aware early about the aux pump in the tranny. Interesting that it has a harder time moving over obstacles like a 4x4 in 4WD with diff lock than in in 2WD. I will have to try this out.
As regards climbing, there are three separate issues: power...

    RTV900 steep hill advice

Thanks for the tips. I always wear the seatbelt and make passengers use it too- because we don't know when something we don't expect is going to happen.
I got the Worksite tires and so far they seem OK- good traction and no damage to the lawn. I don't have mud to deal with. The Essex...

    RTV900 steep hill advice

    Hi everyone,
I took delivery of a new RTV900 a couple of weeks ago (what a great machine!) but have yet to try it on my steepest trail- an old logging trail. The hill is walkable but a little intimidating on a new machine without much seat time. The normal advice with tractors is to...
