Sorry now I even tried to put in an opinion......I tried to read Max's entries and I read that there are two trees.....One actually is a bush with oval shaped leaves and blooms that have long petals in a clump. This is the mystery tree..........

The other tree, that I call a redbud, is a "classic" redbud. A shortish trunk with dark grey smooth bark, branches that are long spindly with blooms that are actually attached to the twigs and branches of the tree. They are a distinctive redish purple bloom.

Red bud actually taken moments ago:

Dennis, I posted two pics. One was the bush or shrub that is overgrown that nobody seems to know what it is called. It has the small oval green leaves and "hair like" petals on the blooms. The leaves on this plant will turn different colors during the summer. Sometimes they are green and sometimes they are a deep burgundy color. The other pic that I posted was of the redbud tree. Here is another pic of the mystery bush.IMG_0584.jpg

kewl.
Now I'm trying to find out what all the bigger trees that bloom white this time of year. They are not dogwood but other than that I can't tell ya much.
Still I'm guessing you guys will know.

You are welcome BC and overszd........surely not holdin my breath for more

Doc.......those are probably PEAR trees........Some grow pretty tall but mostly they get broken off or blown down in heavy winds so folks keep them trimmed back........

Wish I was able to take pics of mine but they all dropped their petals this morning after the heavy rain last night........God bless.....Dennis

Thanks Dennis, I'll look them up.
I found the Japanese Lilac Tree and thought maybe that was it but it seem to small.

We are the designated easter egg hunt location for the family..........Put lime out last fall and fert a couple weeks ago.....NOW I HAVE THE GRASS MONSTER THAT ATE SUGAR VALLEY........grass is gonna be knee high if I don't get out there like NOW.........How do we get ourselves into these messes??????........Went to the Dollar Store and spent $80 on easter egg hunt stuff....Don't know why we don't just get a bag of sugar, some food coloring and throw the mixin's out..............Don'tcha just love them grandbabies runnin around to see who gets the "prize" egg???????....Maybe I should just leave the grass out there as part of the easter egg obstacle course/hunt
