Trail riding in the snow. Coming up out of a pond development. 4x4, worksite tires, chains on rear tires, high range -- no problem.

Well one of our first calf heifers had twins. If it was a cow we would just leave it be but we pulled it off and have to bottle feed it until we lose one then we will mary it up with a new mom its doing good.

Great news King. I hope the best .. we have had many sets this year too. If you have time, try to catch the info on the milk replacer- dangers of soy to the calf- in the " calving time on the farm ' thread . It is some bad stuff... The calves stomachs aren't developed enough to process it and it can be fatal.. collie

Thanks Bordercollie we have been bottle-feeding every day I will check and see if it has soy in it tomorrow morning. Good information with the price of cows so high each one is a valuable community and its a bull calve worth a few cents more per pound

King, to bad we're not neighbors. Had first calf heifer loose her first calf on Monday. Wife said the heifer is still searching for her calf. Probably could have easily attached one of your twins on her.

That bottle fed calf will be an expensive one once you pay for all the milk replacer. Expensive stuff.

I am happy we have this talk about anything thread, I have learned a lot from all of you (Canadian same as Y'awl) lately. I was thinking about getting a couple of dairy bull calves this spring and keeping them until fall. I wasn't experienced enough with cattle but lots of people told me no problem, now I think it is more than I want to take on right now with my inexperience.

Thank you

King, I talked to the animal nutritionist a (Dr) that came by this past week and asked him if this was really true on the soy and he said yes, it was sad but true.. You will gradually be able to creep feed the calf and that will help with expenses. collie

Would help if I would have added the link so others could play.
