Right rear wheel locked up ‘21 rtv1140x. 129hrs

Yep. The dynamic brake if that's what you want to call it needs replaced with a coast valve or attemp to adjust the valve. There is a plug on top rear of your transmission with an allen recess in it. Remove and pull out the valve. You can adjust the screw in the center for more relief and softer stops. Sometimes this works but if it doesn't just get a coast valve and drop in and go

I didn't put a coast valve in my X900. After I got use to it I wouldn't change anything. My property is hilly and sometimes I forget that I even have brakes.

When I bought my 1100C last year, I thought I wanted to install a coast valve on mine because I was so used to the transmission on my Gator. It didn't take very long to forget the coast valve. I like the transmission braking.

Someone replied in this post I believe that a coast valve can be installed free 2016. The X models after 2016 have the dynamic breaking valve built-in which is supposed to have replaced the idea of needing a coast valve but is much more harsh if anyone has pictures of which of the adjustment screws/valvesneed adjusting I can’t seem to find it in the manual. Thank you for your replies.

Can you send me a picture or give me a page number from the manual? I’m not sure which valve they trying to adjust. There are several on the exterior.

There is a plug on the right rear horizontal flat surface of your transmission. It had i think a 10mm allen in it so you will need a tough allen wrench or one that fits a socket. It is tight! Remove this plug and with a magnet remove the valve spool. Without scratching the valve loosen the lock on the top and turn out the screw in the center no more than two turns. Reinstall. Test. There is a danger of cavitation with this adjustment. The replacement coast valve comes with instructions and a replacement valve spool that works and is safe

👍 I’ll try it today. Thanks. God bless

Look at that link i sent and you will see where the plug is. Same same on the rtv 900 as your model
OK, this is getting more and more confusing. I just left the Kabota shop. They said it’s an external adjustment underneath an aluminum cap on the X model versus underneath a hex plug on the top of the hydrostatic transmission. Both plugs on top of the hydrostatic appear to be just places to check pressures. They showed me the valve that is in the picture of the thread you sent me, but it is not in the location on my model which is a 2021X1140. It shows that is located on the cast plate that backs up the hydrostatic transmission between the hydrostat and the actual transmission. It also shows two caps at the top of that plate on the diagram. We looked at inside the shop and both of them appear to be just ways to check pressure High and low. I’m sorry for the blah blah lying but this is the last adjustment I need to make, and if I do the wrong thing could screw something up. The picture on the thread does not show the actual location just shows it’s on top of something. The Shop mechanics actually showed me the valve in the picture and how to adjust it without damaging it but then they said it didn’t match up with the diagrams they had from the shop manual. I’m seriously confused.

If you have a diagram other than a screenshot from somebody else’s post that shows the location it would be very helpful. Thank you for your time.

Please confirm your transmission with a photo. The 1140 used the old style for a while after the x came out. They are completely different from each other. A photo will tell. Sorry for confusion. Thanks

Does your transmission look like this from the rear

100% the first pic. Let’s see if my photo loads
100% the pic without sides on it. Mine is shinier due to corrosion x and cleaning case while it was apart. It’s all working great. Shifts pretty smooth. Just spill your beer every time you take your foot off the gas 😬. Thank you again for your time.

Ok then you have the later model. The procedure i gave earlier was for the former old model so as far as the coast valve.please disregard...sorry...
Your model there is a plug on the side rear of your transmission that has an anti tamper sleeve crimped on it. Take off the sleeve and adjust the stem. Or you can purchase an aftermarket coast plug for this model. It definitely should not stop suddenly. Make sure your brakes are released completely. It should roll easy with the shifter in neutral
