OMG.. have no fear of that! After Christmas and the December property taxes.. I will not have that thought for a LONG time. We are about to have a contest to see who can get the best deal on stale bread and PB & J! My travel next week should help. I'll get in more time than normal. I did not get of the office today until 20 to 7:00!

I just want to let everone know that the pine grossbeaks that disappeared from my area recently have returned again. There is some chatter starting between the different models (3 possible systems) of some precipitation possibly of a frozen variety hitting the NE late this coming weekend into the early week next week. Followed by a rain event later (NE) with Ohio and western PA seeing some snow. There will be probably periods of rain showers/drizzle off and on this week in NE with some possible frozen stuff (light and at night) during this warmer than average week. I will keep everyone posted. Jay

Do I eat well in this coming week...or should I think again about applying for food stamps?

You should be happy about this abnormally warm January thaw as it relates to your oil heat. At least you do not have to siphon diesel from your tractor

I have no problems with using food stamps (have in the past), especially when I see food stamp recipients with $500 fingernails, wearing so much gold they would sink in a pool, wearing furs, and driving vehicles that most people can only dream about using them in grocery stores. You can get a lot of good peanut butter, jelly, and even fresh bread with food stamps

Y'all know I am trying to turn over a new leaf. January thaws are nice. I can't believe I am already down a full quarter tank from my staggering $650+ December fill and here it is only January 6th!!!
Gotta stretch out that last 3/4 tank for a L-O-N-G time. But I also need income and that means finding more cold weather and snow to push! It's a "no win" danged if I do and danged if I don't situation.

. Thanks for the laugh . Actually the prednisone treatment that kept me alive this summer/fall also messed up my pancreas. Now that I have diabetes I have to factor my pre-dinner martini into my daily diet which removes peanut butter and other good stuff from my diet. I actually wait for low blood sugars so I can eat the stuff. I think I will go out snowshoeing now; I would like some peanut butter today . See you on the return. Jay

Just lost a long winded weather related tome for this audience (I hate dialup.
). My memory is pretty shot due to aging and years of serious partying, but I will try to get everything down as I remember it. Yes I do lead a reasonably happy, but definitely a idiosyncratic life . Almost dying taught me a lot about almost living. I think I am starting to get my priorities correct. I still can party within limitations. More important to me is the weather. With each pending little mini-front the temperatures will drop a little. The systems will track up the St Lawrence which generally means rain 
. This Pacific energy will be arriving Tuesday into Wednesday with rain showers and increasing wind. Thursday night into Friday snow/rain mix turning to all rain Friday. I do not see much if any accumulation. The weekend will be dry with temperatures starting to return to normal. There is a lot of Canadian energy developing . We could be seeing this potential system Tuesday into Wednesday with appreciable snow 
. Of course the snow/rain line will depend on storm track. It is quite warm here in western MA right now- 56.3. Nice and warm to start the rain dance process, but I better wait until dark for the sake of anyone possibly passing by

There could be some thunderstorms embedded in the rain cells and there will be a lot more rain than I previously thought (>1" total).
