I stopped by the Kubota dealership in Belzoni on my way back from Ark. I like the nice folks there and try to buy supplies from 'em when it works out. Well, I go in and everyone says hi. This is the same place where a owner fellow there tried to but my '94 Toyota p'up a couple of years ago- shocked it only had 57,000 mile on it.
. I give this fellow I have never seen before my filter number and so he goes and gets it for me. I say how many hours were put on the 2 RTVs I had. Then I pay cash for the filter (right at $11 ) He goes to get the change in the back room and come back with it and a hat. for me. :) I didn't even get a hat when I bought the bota elsewhere. Well haha funny thing, I am going to remember that when the time rolls around for a new machine. :) collie -- funny how the little things count to me.
The little things mean a lot to me also. Funny, you'd think more dealers would understand that ...and not forget that little tidbit.

Nice hat there for sure. It certainly is the little things that some ignore, thinking no one will notice. I truly often wonder if that is the norm now adays. Folks being rude and not taking that extra little step to be civil or do the right thing???..........To busy, lazy, narcissistic, or such a low regard for the needs and feelings of others to recognize their lack of everyday manners. Guess they aren't so "everyday" anymore. Make fun of the other guy or tear up what he has to say and think..........God bless........Dennis

Just got a case, 5000 rounds/10 boxes or bricks of 500, for just under $200 from CMP. Course the wait was more than a year; but now I have some trading currency for when the hard times come and one round of .22 is worth a WHOLE bunch.

30.06, my favorite round is still right around .50 there. Not plinking prices; but low enough to stock up a couple of canisters a year for putting away

I start my kids/young ones on pellet guns or BB's; but transition over to .22 as soon as possible using the real thing. Yes, pellet guns and such are great for learning HOW to aim and pull a trigger right, along with gun safety; but there is nothing like KNOWING what that bang is like when it comes to pulling that trigger for real..........God bless..Dennis

I must really be loosing it.

When we have storms roll in, and lightning starts popping. I will turn off the computers and the central air unit to the house. Wait until it goes by, and
turn things back on.

Today. Leaving the home place, going to town to eat. Seen it was a storm coming in. Lightning in the skies and blackening up.

Turned all off.

RETURNED .... Turned all back on. ALL BUT THE AIR.
Went and got in my "CHAIR", or my throne, and was going to rest a few minutes before going down to the shop. Sorry, but I fell smooth asleep. Went
into a coma it think. When I came too, I was about to die. HOT, HOT , HOT,
I was sweating, thought I was working in the cotton fields or something.
Looked over to Mrs. Two Guns, she was still out. I hollered at her and said, what is going on. I am just about to burn up in here. She, also
was sweating up a storm. I jump up to see what the "air" was temp was on.
>>>>>>>>> It was not "ON" nothing. It was still "OFF".
Kicked it back on and in a few minutes, home started cooling down.
Sorry, but down here in the south. A house can become a oven in no time at all in this humidity. Don't care how much insulation you got. It gets damn hot !!!!
Thank God for Air Conditioners !!!!

Amen Two Guns ! It got terribly how today and so humid! We worked cows from 8-2:30 and I'd about had it. Thanks to the Lord above for the trees in the work area.
Now speaking of lightening, it struck the closest neighbors lines 2 weeks ago. (1.3 miles from us) They lost everything connected to the phone line >>>DTV , TV Computer and security system.... Many years ago it did the same here and knocked the breakers on the ac units and everything on the phone lines so keep an eye on those phone lines too. Be safe out there my friends.. collie

We have had some bad storms the past 2 weeks where the lightning rings the phone at times. My new computer has now taken to just turning itself off at times but never when using it. Need to contact Tiger Direct and HP about it. As for the heat this is today's forecast. While I know you folks are going to laugh at these temps they are killing me. Can only work in the mornings when it gets this warm. My health issues make me melt real easy.

Lightning

Lightning hit a tall spruce tree a few years back that was situated about 25ft
out from our house foundation. Travelled down the tree, followed a large root out to a buried cable that ran from the sat dish and then up to the house where it contacted an outdoor water hose and then entered the house through the water system. Took out the deep well water pump, washing machine, dish washer, kitchen stove, TV's and numerous other gadgets. Surprisingly the old PC tower running XT wasn't harmed.

How do I know the path it took? ...Because it looked like a back hoe had dug a trench out from the tree to the buried cable and the up to the house. Had sod blown onto the house roof and even the wifes car which was at least 75' away had pieces of sod on it. Wife and I were both home at the time and it sounded and felt like a hand grenade had gone off outside the kitchen window. Forseveral moments after the strike all that could be seen out through the windows on that side of the house was a white cloud....all the water on the ground and vicinity had been vaporized...

Ever since then whenever a boomer rolls through we keep clear of kitchen sinks, bathroom fixtures etc till the storm has passed.

We get these storms when our cool arctic air masses run into that hot humid air that the Gulf of Mexico send our way.

Having said all this, I'll take the odd severe thunderstorm and our customary winter snowstorms any day over that weather tornado alley gets or those hurricanes.

Bill. Had a similar problem of the computer coming on by itself.

I found it was for the most part, a slight trembling of the mouse which could be common if the house shakes even the slightest bit during a thunderstorm.

To fix:
Open "Mouse" in control panel
Go to "Hardware" tab.
Pick the mouse and select "Properties". If you have more than one mouse listed, do this for each.
A new little window will appear with 3 tabs.
Click on "Change Settings".
A 4th tab "Power Management" will appear. Go to that tab.
Un-check "Allow this device to wake up the computer"
Click OK.

Your computer shouldn't wake up anymore. If it does, I have 2 more fixes.

Those night time lows would be just fine as daytime highs in my opinion.

Our first 'puter, a HP, would occasionally start on it's own. Shut it down, go to bed, it would be on when we got up. I was standing beside it one time, weather was clear, nothing moving, it just started up. We think it was my late Grandmother saying hello.

Generally if a pc just turns itself off by itself for no reason it is generally an over heating issue. When the CPU over heats windows will shut down the pc for safty reasons.Make sure your CPU fan is spinning and not clogged up with dust and it gets a good air flow.

If disabling the mouse doesn't stop your computer from starting, try these 2 things.

1. In Task Manager, click on the Processes tab. Make sure they're in alphabetical order then look for a task that starts with j and who's description is something about Java auto update. (Those like to start the computer). If the task is there, click on it then "End Process".

2. Shut your computer down then do a start-up. When doing the start-up, hit whatever Function key it is to get into settings (before Windows starts). There's an option in there that shows scheduled tasks. Make sure that's empty. If there's something in there, identify what it is (so you can get rid of it in Windows) and then remove it from scheduled tasks.

Been monitoring the temps and 88 is not hot by any means. Motherboard is only 83. I am thinking power supply maybe. My power management options are turned off. It only seems to do it when idle. One of the reasons PC's will turn on is embedded software from the manufacturer that monitors and uploads stuff if you don't get rid of it.

So, last Saturday the neighbor has a 4th of July/birthday party for his boys.

It draws a good sized crowd with a ton of kids so we use my yard as well. Between the 2 yards we have almost 2 football fields. We put the tables, food, volleyball and smaller games in his yard. Kick-butt slip and slide (home made), soccer, kickball, football in my yard.

When it gets close to dark, we break down the volleyball area and he hires a company to do a fireworks display. They can blow off the big stuff... ;)

When it gets dark, everyone moves their lawn chairs to my yard so they're a good distance from where the fireworks are being launched. The fireworks go off and everyone does the ooohhh's and aaahhhh's. Most people then leave.

So, I then take my RTV and a trailer to clean up most of the fireworks mess. We wait 10 minutes then the fireworks people as well as us check all tubes for any non-fired items. Wait a little more then put the scraps on the trailer and haul away.

A couple hours later we have the clean-up done and a group of about 10 of us are standing around shooting the breeze. It's getting cold. One of the girls asks why we're hanging around near the deck when we have a nice fire going over there. I look at where they're pointing and sure enough, there's a fire. Bad part is I didn't start a fire over there.

Oh crap! Something in the cardboard of the fireworks must have been smoldering and caught fire. On the trailer! I jump on the RTV and get over there. Grabbed the fire extinguisher mounted to the RTV and got enough of the fire put out where I could get close. I grabbed the trailer from the side and flipped it onto its side to dump all the burning stuff out of the trailer. By then, I had a couple other helpers and they had 5-gallon buckets in their UTV's. Creek was only about 25' away so we got water from there and put it out.

Trailer is now "Cajun" (blackened, like you do to your chicken or fish) in parts. I'll put a new floor and sides on it. Just glad the tires didn't catch on fire. They're a lot harder to put out.

Bet you stop by the hose and wet things down next time. You will be hurting from flipping the trailer though. At least it wasn't near a building.

Glad things turned out okay Brian.
Great idea to have a fire extinguisher in or on the RTV. Where do you mount it?
