There is a cable running to the rear of the transmission from the brake peddle.when you mash the brakes firmly it release pressure on the transmission to make shifting easier. It may take like 5 seconds to release. Jonathan

Congratulations on getting it out an finding out what your problem was. I just got thru tearing apart my 2014 1100 with a coupling issue with the axle. The splines in the rear-end stripped out and would not let the axle come out. Now like you said remembering how it goes back together...

Doc I think I read that the red rubber flap was to block leaves , trash etc. From getting on the exhaust an catching on fire. Believe I may of read that in the thread , flap for in between cab an bed. Jonathan

ok thanks. i got my axles in, an they just have a c clip on the trans side. i will be tearing into it provably friday or saturday. thanks Jonathan

i did look at the diagram's an printed them out.

so i shouldnt have to pull the cover an loose all the fluid?

aurthuritis Can you tell me if the repair manual for a 2014 rtv x1100c covers the removal of the rear axle coming out of the transmission. does it snap out like a car cv joint or do you have to pull the cover on the side of the trans. an take the retianing clip off that way. jonathan
