Dougster,Got it!!!Thank you!!! Now I understand completely! Not at all sorry I asked... things like this are really good to know!!!
I certainly know the Model 1911. Heck, I owned three of them... all Colts... and still own two... plus I had a compact Star .45 ACP a long time ago but sold it also. Never liked the foreign workmanship & quality anyway. But I never once heard the name "Kimber" before. Sounds like I'll have to do some research to become semi-current again!

Farmwithjunk,MRI was for pain in the area of left kidney/lower abdominal area.
What's this........everyone's agreeing with Ed today? No way let's not go down that road!![]()

The Dougster is not a "subject"!!!Kinda like the subject of Dougster...![]()
Not to hijack the thread back to the original subject, but... Funny this statement was in there. I am Texas born and raised and southern to the bone, but when I had to have a kidney transplant 9 years ago, it came from a man in Ohio whose family donated his organs upon his death. It was a perfect match, and I have had no problems other than gaining lots of pounds from the meds I take. I have often (jokingly) told people that the only drawback to this transplant was that I had to start being nice to yankees, since they were awfully good to me, and I have yankee blood in me now.![]()
By the way, I am truly grateful every day I live. There was a time when I thought I would not see my children grow up, and now I am watching grandchildren grow up, AND I get to drive the tractor.![]()
So now we know of your one and only "flaw"!!!Dougster,
Glad to know you will sleep well tonight.Like the Big RED Beast, I love my Kimber. When the instructor in the CHL class checked our pistols out, he told the guys in the class to watch me qualify. He was in awe of it and stated he wanted one. It cost $1,013.62 on March 3, 2002. I still carry the receipt in my wallet for some unknown reason. Go to www.kimberamerica.com and check them out. I do need to borrow a friends back up and send my Kimber's frame back to the Custom Shop to have a "short" (for small hands) trigger put on, as my trigger finger is a hair short.
hugs, Brandi

The poor old Dougster doesn't have a dollar... and even if I did, why would I want to split my winnings with the old Edster???Ed,
Get a dollar from Dougster and split the winnings from him
hugs, Brandi
Farmwithjunk,

simply replying to me with these words.
"YES SIR, YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT SIR"
That'd spell the end of the controversy real quick-like.
So now we know of your one and only "flaw"!!!A short trigger finger!!!

All prayers accepted, needed, and appreciatedWell, my visit to the doctors office was a long drawn out affair. Not as grim as I thought it might be, but not exactly good news none the less. Kidney pain is resulting from blood sugar skyrocketing. I'm a diabetic. Meds and diet had been doing the trick. Blood sugar WAS holding steady between 90 and 110 for the last 7 years. So steady I was able to quit daily testing. When I got to the doctors office the nurse did a quick test. 385!
For the non-diabetic savvy crowd, that ain't good. Not good at all.
New meds, testing 2 times daily, more dietary restrictions, and more lab work to check for liver/kidney function. Not to mention ORDERS to loose 30 lbs in 90 days. So, I get home, find wife/kids/grandkids/dogs waiting at the door. I get the collective I TOLD YOU SO from the crowd. Some days you get the bear, other days, the bear gets you.
Oh well.
Now dang it Junk!!! I told you that you couldn't have any more B-B-Q based on what your doctor had said... so what do you do??? You overindulge in B-B-Q during the damn StupidBowl!!!![]()
I told ya so Junk... I told ya so!
Dougster![]()
Well, I'm just sayin' that it sounds like it was under control until fairly recently! Then I hear that the old Junk can't have any sugar... and next thing ya know you are bragging about that fine Southern B-B-Q!!!The diabetes thing goes back a little further than the superbowl. Like about 3 generations back on my mothers side of the clan. This "gettin' old" stuff ain't all it's cracked up to be.![]()
Correct. It's called being dirt poor.Heck that boy doesn't even have two nickles to rub together![]()
I'm not takin' that sucker bet!LOOK OUT INCOMING
Bet ya even with a short trigger finger she could plug ya.![]()
