reassemble the passenger side and it will hold the diff while you disassemble the driver side.
Return on accelerator sticking and drive to rear wheels appears intermittent

Passenger side all back together with new shaft. Driver side now open (was very stiff to separate..previous person had cracked casing when opening up but not leaking). All appears present and correct with no more evidence of debris. Time to put back together? I expect it to be much harder to get this side back in...what is the fork? Is it engagement for diff or brakes?

fork is difflock. looks good and clean. case probably cracked from previous bearing failure
The crack is near a lug on the casing...thought maybe cracked when last person tried prising it off. Should I consider replacing? It's as the top and wasn't leaking so suspect ok? I noticed splines on shaft serving front wheels (4 WD) are worn - is this shaft extractible from this location or do you need to open gear box?

if it wasn't leaking why fix it? in order to replace that shaft the case has to be disassembled. looks like the yoke was sloppy. a new yoke might fit snug
HST all back together and holding oil. About to put rear axle back on then realised one of the outer shaft splines are worn (same side as damaged CV/spider). They look worn and splines are v tipped rather than castellated. Despite this when I enter it into the new female shaft it seems to bind quite well with no movement...the dilemma is should I replace outer shaft or just put back together as is mixing old with new?? When removing the outer shaft I noticed a seal on the inside bearing was damaged....how hard is it to change bearings in chassis Fram housing, are they pressed? Good news is all new steering hoses are on...just hope I have them the right way!!
