Re: Recommendations on accessories

Brian,

I did get the overhead console. I have been looking at 3 different forums today and have gathered alot of information. I amnow wishing, that I had notbought the extra storage compartments. I would have rather bought the drop-in liner instead. I have decided to go ahead and have the bed sprayed and probably the floor, also.

Kubota offers a rearview mirror, but I want to make sure it will work with or without a windshield.

The cab kit comes with a windshield, so I hate to buy one now and then decide to get the cab.

I have also decided on getting the ramsey 3.0 winch.

As for anything else, I guess I will use it for awhile, before I buy anymore accessories. (or will I?)

This is like when I bought my last truck and had to chrome it all out. I kind of feel like a young kid at Christmas! [G]

Re: Recommendations on accessories

Your dealer should give you a credit for the windshield that comes with the cab kit if you decide to do that later. It also comes with a roof...

I am pretty sure the rearview mirror mounts to the windshield

If you're like me, I think you'll find that the RTV will get more accessorized thanthe truck.

For the rear-view mirror, see the attached pic. First, let me qualify that this has been cleaned up some (the wires hanging out and stuff).

Look near the top front. I made an "accessory bar" so I could utilize things made for ATV's (which are based on 3/4" racks and handlebars). I got a mirror from a car parts store and put on that bar. As a note, I need to move it to the center as the rear ROPS bar blocks some of the view where the mirror is currently mounted.

Brian

PS - NEIL - I don't have the option to post pictures anymore? Do you need to reset something?

ALEX - Once I can post pics, I'll post one that will help with winch mounting.

The mounting of the winch is pretty straight forward. The thing that made me scratch my head was where to put all the "stuff" that was needed but wasn't on the winch itself.

Here's a pic of where I mounted all the "stuff". For the antenna, it's mounted to the underside of the hood. Make sure the 2 pieces of wire tape don't touch each other when mounting.

The switch will either come as a toggle or rocker. Mine came with a toggle. I drilled a hole through the dummy cover for the flashers or whatever is there on the dash and mounted to that. If you get a rocker, it'll probably fit in there.

Hmmm. If I use the "Preview" option, it won't take the picture. I have to do a direct post for it to pick up the attachment. Just a FYI.

Oh, heck. That was an easy one to find. Here's another potential bug that's very discreet. I haven't established an exact pattern yet but sometimes when I'm writing a post the "delete" key on the keyboard doesn't work and I have to backspace over the text to delete it. It happened to me on my last post but so far, it's working on this post. I'll see if I can find the pattern or condition that is causing it.

For a mirror you might look at the mirrors that go on golf carts. They give youa wide angle view and it fits under the u bolts that hold the top on. I have the plastic top on mine and it works great.
