New member, any 1100 owners in N. IN?

Thanks TwoGuns!

The trim applied to the hood prevents plastic to plastic contact. On my 900 the contact prior to installing the trim was resulting in rubbing wear (chaulking) of the body plastic. Hopefully the 1100 has additional sealing material to prevent the contact and wear. In my case and other 900s I've seen, there was inadequate sealing material to preclude the wear.

I believe the trim cost about $7.50 from an auto-parts store.

The 1100 is different from that one. Like I said I'm pretty sure the one I test drove had heavy rubber gasketing all the way around the hood! I don't see how it could make plastic to plastic contact. But that does look good on your model ??'s!

Hey Two Guns,
If you had a dust free heated, sealed garage, you would not have to cover that thing.
My 1100 has 1400 hrs on it now and everyone thinks it brand new, keep the motorhome in there also - next to my hoist.

We don't need anything heated down here in the south.
My machines are in a garage, not perfectly sealed. Gotta to get air to our
stuff down here to vent. For there is so much humidity.

I cover EVERYTHING up down here. In garage or not. Most with breathable
covers that I special order....

Plus, just like the 1100. It has doors. Don't need doors. Just something to
get in my way. I am in and out so much.

Plus, think a closed in, sealed up garage would do me in. Don't need to be shut up place at all .....
Im REAL BAD claustrophobic, hope I spelled it correct . Cant take being confined, small places, or rooms.
Don't need a panic attack . We don't need that down here !!!!

Yep. Two Guns has it right. It is pretty mild down here compared to Kanook ,muleman, and others up North. Zoom has a real nice garage . Now my RTV is lucky to get under the carport. Since I use it every day, a good bit of the day, it stays uncovered and dirty. I only had one time where my drink in the cup holder froze during the day. Anyway, I am proud of your machine for you. :) bordercollie

I use my hand throttle when I want to keep the RPM's up regardless of where I am on the pedal.
E.g. When I'm about to climb a long, steep hill, I pull it up so my RPM's stay high regardless of the speed I'm going.

I'm going to show the dealer where I want my winch switches mounted in a few hours, any suggestions on the plug for the remote? He said they normally mount it inside the cab. I thought it might be better to have it external or under the hood! I should take deliver Wednsday, I'm so excited I can't stand it......

Mine is wireless...
Besides the corded remote, I'm assuming you have a toggle switch for the dash, correct?
If so, I'm thinking I would put it under the hood. Then you could probably keep the corded remote plugged into it all the time and just pop the hood and pull it out whenever you needed it.

Correct it has the rocker switch that I will have mounted inside the cab but it didn't make sense to me to have the remote plug in there also!

......... and, while your in under the hood.

Install you a " DOT-it " light.....

It will come in handy !!!!

Mine is under the dash, drivers side using the existing bolts.
I have one on the winch for manual control at the winch and my remote/wired when plugged in is long enough beyond that.

Yeah the rocker came with a bracket that mounts under the dash and they're making a bracket to mount the corded remote plug under the hood! I even got a hat and a new no spill diesel jug out of him on top of the other "bonuses"!

I'm a bit of a flashlight junkie so I have no shortages on lights!

Uh oh. Praetorian.. you mentioned the light word... Now get ready for lots of light info. Us RTV folks love our 12 v lights :) I don't have a "Go Light" but they are very nice. I'm sure that Two Guns, Zoom and others will chime in on them. :) bordercollie
