Tailrotor those are too funny. Great idea for a good conversation piece. Life is too short not to have a good laugh!! Loaded up my big star that I put up on the ham radio tower every year and put it on a time clock so that it is lit from dark till midnight or so. We got it up and should come on bout dark. Up on top of the hill that the tower is on it can be seen over 30 miles away with the bare eye. Here is pic of the star on back of buggie when I got it out of the barn. Will try to get a pic of it on the tower lit up and post.IMG_0148.jpg

Nice picture can't wait to see it lit up. I love Christmas and all the lights and family get togethers. It really is what its all about.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Thunder and to all the great guys and gals on here.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! All

Very nice effort on your part. Putting the star up high where others might see it and be reminded of the real reason for celebrating Christmas. Merry Christmas to all.

Thanks keifer, we love Christmas around here. Wife got everything from tree to a elf on the shelf. LOL Thought I would post a pic of the tower in the daylight since the night picture did not show up too good. I put the star on the tower on the left of my little ham shack in this pic. Hope everyone has a great Christmas!!!

TYVM
Im hoping someone very close has a used set.Ive found a few online that wasnt so bad in price but at 160 pounds shipping was a deal breaker.Im not willing to pay 130.oo for shipping when chains are 279.00
Hopefully ill come across something.I just hate like hell to beg for help, it makes me feel small!

Hey Mark, we all do what we need to do. Don't think a thing about it. We might get one snow here in a years time so not a lot of need for chains around here but if I can find some they will show up at your door step! When it does snow enough to scrape the road here I use the ford 3910 and a scrape blade to clear the road. Am finished with the bush hogging around here so I already have the blade on the back of tractor. Maybe just hoping for a white Christmas. Little chance of that because I really don't remember ever having a white Christmas here. Hope you and your family have a great holiday season.

Looking for guestimates from all of you hard workers.
Most here know what each does with their machines.
Seeing its almost a new year again im just curious as to how much weight has been moved around or pushed around with your Mini Tanks?
Or lets say how many tons of snow,or dirt has been moved or pushed around and how much fire wood in cords or weight you think you have moved.I was doing some figuring last night on what I have done with mine since 2004 and i got lost as the numbers grew.
Im just curious as what you think your machine has done over the years.
Firewood would be one of the easiest things to figure out but snow at least for me is slmost impossible as i do my driveway, My dads Driveway and a few of the neighbors that are elderly.
here is one of my typical snow seasons around the end of january
Most piles are 8 feet high and maybe 20 to 30 feet deep depending on what part of the driveway or Observatory area its in
alittlesnow.JPG

as for fire wood i figure on average 20 log cords per season for me.
Oh By the way if i dont see you all before then Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow what a bunch of snow. If we got that much around here I would have to move! Just looking at all that snow makes me want to go to the beach. LOLIMG_0149.jpg

LOL Its not as bad as you might think.Im used to it so its just a minoir annoyance for me unless we bet hammered by back to back storms. Its more of playing the catch up game. Some times i can go a week without plowing and other times I start at 8 am and dont finish till past dark.At least its something to do during the winter so i dont get fatter or lazier.
That pic was from a few years back.Last year was an ass kicker on us here.I plowed almost every day and the snow never quit falling.I think my last snow pile last year finally melted down to nothing about the first of june.

That snow makes me want the beach too. Dang.

I know what you mean Mark. We'd be lost without our RTV. We use it for so many chores. it is more than the total of what it hauls, though it hauls a lot. My wife was not so sure about the purchase of an RTV. Now just last year she was on board with buying a 2nd one if I wanted. Gotta love it. The RTV sold her and has her ready for more. Cheers to all our RTV's and Merry Christmas to all.

Well, my chores get spread out amongst several pieces of equipment so the RTV gets its portion but the ATV's, tractors, ZTR... also have to chip in.

Grading, rototilling, loader work and 1/2 of the snow removal is done by the tractor.

The ATVs get the other 1/2 of the snow removal, their fair share of firewood processing (pulling trailers of wood or just taking me and the saw into the woods to do some bucking) as well as the lighter chores around the place.

Then the RTV. It does its chores but is also the go-to vehicle when it's more than just me needing a ride. In the winter, besides firewood, it spends most of its hours playing. Either pulling the kids on the sleds or toboggan or dragging their sleds and butts back up the hill if they doing downhill runs.

So, how much does it haul a year? I have no idea.

A couple winter pics.

That sure is a great looking garden spot Bczoom. Also a great looking JD tractor. Makes me want winter to be over and get back to garden chores. Here is the biggest snow we had last year. Nothing to compare to what Mark gets.IMG_0042.jpg
