Thank you Two Guns I am going to check this one out and see if I can get it in Canada. I've seen this amazing buck (only sillouet) late evening sometimes when I've been working on my tractor over the last 4 years, but I've never been up close and personal. He never comes out day time. But he has been producing lots of beautiful twins and triplets with our regular does. I want to see this guy so bad. I've tried everything I can think of in day light, so it has to be a camera. His tracks are like a one year moose just huge.

We really enjoy doing the cameras.

Brings out a whole new world of the world "Outdoors" & Wildlife.

We have got some crazy pics of animals doing crazy things.

I live out in the boonies on a lake, lots of other lakes and river systems near by; we have so many animals here; so like you I think the cameras would be so revealing. My dog GSD has had so many encounters with predators but that is for another post sometime,

Beavers kept stopping up drainage ditch going out of fields. One beaver got killed and the body was thrown over the pile of sticks to try to scare off other
beavers and thinking they would move on. ( Don't have time to hunt them, it's still deer season, so we tried this psychological warfare tactic ) >>>> :bonk::bonk:

Next day, drove by and found that the dead beaver has been moved and eat on a little, and then buried in leaves about forty foot from where it was left.

Then, we find tracks of a swamp panther.....

This area is where I let my friends two young sons hunt. But now after seeing these tracks. Told him and he thinks the boys need to stay away from this for awhile. And I agree >>>>
Panther sure screwed up these boys place. They been killing some nice wild boar hogs out of this place this year.

The only remedy for beavers is ... I hate to say this ... dynamite. Beaver dams can appear quickly and, depending on the flow of water and the lay of the land, they can cause a lotta real property damage in a short span of time. Get 'em before they flood your lands.

That is exactly what usually gets done. But the way things are at the moment. Going to have to wait a few weeks.

Now I know there is a few men that been using the new Moultree something camera, and is very pleased with that model.

Let me see if I can find what model he has ....

BaiJiu,

Just found out from the men who is running the Moultrie Cameras. They can't stop bragging on them. The model M-880 and the model m-990i. They are both superior cameras.....

I am really fixing to get away from Cuddeback. Just heard a horror story this morning about their customer service and warranty has went to the dogs.
Went online and done some research. And from what I am reading, it is not good. So before it blows up in my face and to keep them from turning their backs on me, I will go another route. Spend my $$$ on somebody that will stand behind their equipment. This man who told me spends just about as much per year on cameras as we do. And Cuddeback just all but told him To go get screwed.

Hey I really appreciate the feedback Two Guns, I've been following some of the reviews on the Moultrie cameras and it all seems to be positive on the newer models. I think I will buy one shortly, I've spent way too much money this past month. I need to give the bank account a rest for a few weeks.

Two Guns you want to have a bit of fun with those beavers, get a piece of ABS about 3" diameter and shove it through their dam below water level so you have a couple of feet sticking out either side with free flowing water on the down stream side. It will drive them crazy trying to patch what they consider a breach and provide you with some great shooting opportunities.

That is a great idea.

When the scare of the panther settles down with them boys father. I will get them to do that. They will love it !!!!

So Two Guns I spent a couple of hours researching the Moultrie M-880 & M990i cameras, they seem like great cameras, good pictures, good battery life, nice distance and the hunter types seem to like both, reviews on both are quite good but lots of teckie types down rating the M-990I. When I buy a camera I want to know what a hunter thinks and really could care less what a teckie thinks. One feature I like on the M-990i is the ability to view at the camera before retrieving the memory card.

For me, and I hope you guys, the Moultrie products, no matter what you choose are really worth the money. Why?????......Customer service, warranty, and standing behind their products.........I have been using them now going on perhaps 5 years and have had several repair/warranty issues. They are fast, courteous, and complete with getting back to you with what you need............

Yes, it is nice having the camera to have the ability to view what is on the card/memory without pulling it from the camera. My I-65 do that and I leave them for my feeder and on a trail that I like to watch......My I-45 is on another trail/road that I pull the card and replace it with another perhaps once a week or I catch sign of activity on that trail and want to see what it is.........These units are both not the current high techy stuff that some may want; but for me....JUST FINE......God bless......Dennis

Hey,

It's damn cold !!!!
And I'm wanting to ride today.
Mind says YES !!!!

That's pretty much what we look like up here when it's really cold. When you exhale, the moisture freezes quickly to your mustache and beard.

This morning it was a pleasant 26 degrees but it's falling 2 degrees per hour until tonight where it will bottom out at about -15. Wind chills near -40 but we live in a valley so we won't get those high winds.

Talked to my Dad an hour ago. He lives near the Great Lakes and is going to get similar temps as well as about 3 feet of snow.

A beautiful day!!!

I can't imagine it getting that cold down here.

It was told it was 17 at daylight this morning. As you know, we have high humidity. Cold just goes threw our clothes here.
25 DEGREES now at 12:45 pm, 6 January ....
They said, weather man that is, said we suppose to get down to 10 degrees tonight.
That is just cold for our part of the world ....

Back in the 70's when I was young, virile, and downright stupid I rode my BMWs as my main transportation.......Yes, even when cold like this....lolol........what was really funny and sticks to my mind is walking into my Industrial Safety classes with the stickler for everything perfect prof and him just totally NOT believing that I rode 26 miles one way in that cold...........lolol.......as I pulled out my Mickey D breakfast and sat down I advised him "That it is just dedication to your knowledge base prof".............Yes, I pretty much stayed on the Dean's list while getting my Industrial Safety M.S......

Now, I had to hook up the charger to get the battery turning over the RTV started.......Yes, trying to keep that original 05 battery to last just one more season and on days like this, LIKE ME, it needs a bit of booster to get going........Anyway, going down to the mailbox, 1/2 mile ride, my hands got numb and beard froze up as I crested up on the top of the mountain to check out the game cam on the feeder clearing......LOTS of turkey been visiting....I ramble to much...Do you have your feeders out for the birds??....

Princess, my grandaugter is staying with us, days, during her Christmas break....for every different kind of bird she identifies in the book she gets a quarter.....So far today she is up to $4.75......not bad for 6........God bless..........Dennis

Have you tried keeping a Battery Tender Jr. hooked up on your RTV.
You would be surprised what them little Float Chargers will do !!!
I have nine hooked up at all times on different pieces of equipement. They do work and will keep a battery conditioned and up !!!!

...Do you have your feeders out for the birds??.... Yes Sir, we feed the birds too !!!!

Yes Bud......I keep one on the MC during the winter and then rotate between the mower, chipper, and generator with another........I guess I should get another one and rig it with a cig lighter for the RTV........thanks for thought..lol......now ANOTHER thing on my list........The RTV has always started when in the 20's and 30's; but today's 8 surely did not thin out the oil to good.........

I just add it to the list of what ol grandpa has taught her...tying shoes, reading, column addition, multiplication, types of trees.........on and on....YES am proud to have HER around to keep my smiling.......

OHHHHH for sure....not ignoring an email I got.......THANKS BUD.........God bless.....Dennis
