Air Conditioning and Loss of Power

Hi Cornerstone, The older RTV 's had an external screen and it was only held on with a screw on the outside of the tailpipe. There was nothing inside .... My '05 RTV's arrestor never clogged up neither even with 4,250 hours on it-- because it came off right after purchase. I guess you could say it looked like the cap off of a power aid drink or something similar but not solid and having screen in the center..One little sheet metal screw holding it on..
I didn't put it back on. only the newer models have the internal arrestors. Maybe someone can verify when they became internal... I am gonna say 2011 but am guessing. bordercollie

Seeing the same issue - has yours been resolved?

Hi CornerstoneFarms,
What is the outcome of your power loss problem?
We too have purchased the AC version of the X1100, and are seeing same exact issue. Took it to the dealer, they did something to it so it doesn't stall out, but it still has no power once AC is on.
Planning to contact Kubota directly, have you done it already, and has it resulted it any positive outcome?
Thanks

Hey guys and gals we have a RTV X 1100 at work with 75 hrs on the clock and when using the a/c it does have a slight power drain but nothing that I would call a problem.

But what I have been doing is at 50 hrs remove the 12 mm bolt plug which is the clean out and run the rtv for about 10 minutes with out it in and a bunch of soot comes out. And by run I mean drive it around and work it hard.

Maybe this will help someone. I also took our boroscope and looked inside the exhaust the only thing I see on the very end is a cap that looks like a sand dollar that's the best way to describe it. I see no spark arrester screen but it might be on the other end. So with out cutting it apart that's the best I can see.

Thanks Tailrotor, I appreciate the boroscope info. I was sure curious about itThat is way cool! :tiphat: collie

No, and I've discovered A/C doesn't have to be on just the fan and it makes it sluggish. All the units coming in new from the factory seem to do the same thing. Still waiting for a reply/response from Kubota.

128 hours, 652 miles and no additional problems. knock on wood!

Skidloader has electrical problems, big tractor is in the shop getting work done and I am busy trying to put some tomatoes away.

Sure glad my equipment is just old enough and simple enough to not have so many issues. Farmer who hauls my slabwood has a $1/2 million silage chopper that has an electrical issue. It is only 2 years old and they are now thinking a mouse might have chewed some wiring from the multitude of sensors it has. Another has a tractor that has been down for a week waiting on a new computer. I will stick with older simpler stuff that I can work on.

Muleman, that's why the big tractor JD 6400 is in the shop. 5000 hours on it and I've been driving it for 21 years but I decided to put money into it rather then buy a new one because of all the problems they are having with the computers in the newer ones.

That and the emissions systems on the new ones are destroying the injectors.

Hi Cornerstone.....Did you ever get this issue resolved with Kubota or your machine? I too have a new X1100 and experience the same thing when going up a hill with the A/C on. It isn't bad enough to stall the engine, but when the compressor kicks in it loses several mph off my speed. My compressor also cycles frequently and this causes it to bog down, speed up, bog down, speed up as a result of cycling when going up a 1/4 mile long hill. Please give an update. Thank You!!

Nope, machine is still a piece of crap. I am hoping one day it catches fire or rolls off into the pond or something.

Big piece of junk. Haven't even taken it in for the latest recalls.

Over 2000 miles on it. Needs new tires but I hate to put money into it. Wish there was something I wanted really bad to trade it in on.

My RTVX1100 is a 2014 model also. it has no appreciable power loss when the AC kicks on. one thing i noticed is that when the ac compressor kicks on so does the front cooling fan. in your previous posts you mentioned that you had considerable loss of power when the cooling fans run. maybe this isn't an AC problem but an alternator of voltage regulator problem. also have you checked to see if your AC isn't overcharged?
