Air Conditioning and Loss of Power

oh! And I showed him that plug and he laughed. He admitted no way is that going to do anything and no way are owners/users going to perform that service every 50 hours. So I've ask for them to track down another muffler without a spark arrestor!

I just cant believe all these new problems on the rtv x machines. Its the same engine why would they change the muffler to a design that obviously wont work. A starter going out that happens I understand that. Losing power from the ac being turned on there is something else going on might all be related to the muffler be plugged up and making it hard to start also . Good luck sounds like you have a good dealer helping you

Cornerstone. Jack the rear up and check your rear wheels for play. Jst like you would check a vehicle for a bad wheel bearing. You can add that to the list as well

King "A starter going out that happens I understand that."

I don't! I've owned and still own a lot of diesel engine machines. John Deere 6400, just hit over 5000 hours and I've owned it for over 20 years. Lots of other tractors, mowers, 4 wheelers. NOT ONE has ever had a starter replaced.

Generator replaced on a Deere 1010 crawler loader, but that was after it had run for about 40 years.

I still find it a shame that someone spends that kind of money on a product and the damn dealer or Company gives you the run around..................

starter has been replaced. They ran another new machine on their hill and there is power loss with the A.C on but he had to admit not as bad as mine.

Of course they are saying it's because the door is off the compressor has to run harder. Sometime in the next couple of weeks when the hay is all done I will have time to put the door on and run a few tests.

Starter replacement has solved the problem for the moment... hasn't left me dead anywhere since Monday.

OK, I'll raise the flag. When you engage the A/C and your engine stalls, it has no idea if the door is off. That's like saying if you engage your A/C in your car with a window open, the car will stall. Total BS.

:bsflag2:

I agree the doors on or off should not make a difference. I can tell on mine rtv1100 not an x model when the ac is on there is a little less power but not a whole lot. I can feel it in my pickup also these engines are only 24.8 hp so I would think you should be able to feel a loss of power a little bit. But the doors on or off no difference at all.

Dang, what kind of pickup are you driving that only has 24.8 HP? A Nissan? Go get yourself a Chevy or a Ford. :)

Whoa!......I traded my chebby pick-up 05 model that loved the dealer service bays more than my garage. The Nissan that replaced it has been trouble free. I don't love it as much as the 240Z I used to have, but .......one of my kids had a chebby 4 banger that felt like an anchor had been dropped off the rear bumper everytime that A/C switch was activated. It was referred to as the
A-nchor C-ast switch.

I agree that door on or off has nothing to do with the amount of load the a/c compressor would present to the engine. My B series bota cab tractor with a similar size engine doesn't even notice when the A/C is turned on.

Didn't really mean to pick on Nissan. It's just the first 4-banger pickup I thought of. :17875:

I was just messin' with King.

The Kubota has the 24.8 hp motor. I have a new Chevy Silverado lots od power but you got me laughing on that one. Wouldn't mind a little Nissan for some good gas mileage some days
