Does anyone know of an aftermarket starter for a 2019 kubota sidekick 850? I really don’t want to pay the dealer $600.00 for one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback. The 900 is a diesel where the 850 sidekick is a gasoline. There is plenty of aftermarket stuff for the diesel. The sidekick not so much. Thank you again. I’ll keep lookingSeveral years ago Amazon had a aftermarket for my X900, it was less than 75 delivered.
But I have found out many things since then. Who made the starter for the 850?
Denso makes the X900 starter, its a Denso 428000, Maniac Electric had the brush set and solenoid rebuild kit, I ordered both less than 30 delivered. Turns out the brushes in the old starter were very good, just used the solenoid kit very very easy to rebuild. There should be a tag/decal on 850 starter that will tell you the brand & model.
Go from there!!

Yes I’ve heard of google, thank you very much. Have not been able to find anything that fits other than 500-700 price range

Sooo…why don’t you help others out and post the ones You found to be correct…?Yes and the ones you posted the link yo are incorrect. I appreciate your response. Thanks!
I'm in the same boat. After much searching I thought I found one according to a cross reference number I found. Suzuki motorcycle starter. It was 1/2 inch too short and the shaft was only about 2/3 the diameter as the original. I just returned from Kubota and paid the $778 for a new one. Turns out the Sidekick engine (2019 version) is A Suzuki that is built for Artic Cat Snowmobile. I have not found anything online.Does anyone know of an aftermarket starter for a 2019 kubota sidekick 850? I really don’t want to pay the dealer $600.00 for one. Not correct - the RTV 850 Sidekick does not have the solenoid attached (represented in your link). The 850's starter looks like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A004LD6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsAccording to Google, The same starter fits a number of different Kubota models. Example, the sidekick 850 starter also fits:

Amazon shows several for sale for much less than what you state. Hope this helps:
Just received the one from Amazon. Close, but no dice. Splined shaft is smaller diameter, and starter is slightly shorter. Otherwise it is exact, including the mounting holes. I guess I'll go bid on one that I see on Ebay. The starter on my RTV 850 (2018 model) just crapped out. Finally got it off (really hard to get to) and it is stamped with Mitsuba SM17. It is trashed on the inside. Searched on internet, lots of bad info on compatible starters. Found one on Amazon that looks correct so I ordered it. Might not fit but I refuse to pay $600+ from dealer until I at least try a couple different ones. I'll let you know if it actually fits. BTW, I do not like my Kubota RTV 850. Between the jumpy throttle (absolutely makes it worthless for spraying or any low speed work), seals around propeller shaft falling off, general maintenance issues, it is not a good machine.
Mine is stamped Mitsubishi MS-17 on the end cap. I have searched off and on for 3 days. Found a couple on Amazon and on Ebay but the output shaft is too smal in diameter (roughly .375 inches) as compared to the one I removed (roughly .559 inches) There seems to be no options to buy directly from Mitsubishi. Have you discovered any options. The starter on my RTV 850 (2018 model) just crapped out. Finally got it off (really hard to get to) and it is stamped with Mitsuba SM17. It is trashed on the inside.
