Hi everybody. Been lurking on here for a little while, and want to say thanks for all the help that's been provided. I've been able to find a ton of information on past threads; hopefully I'm not posting a question that I just could've searched for.
Little back story: 2015 RTV X900, doesn't move at all. I bought it from a guy for $2500 knowing this, and also noticing that there was ATF in the transmission and in the hydraulic tank. He took it to the dealer and they told him it would need a whole new HST, I called the dealer to find out what they did. They told me they tried a few things to get pressure, but that there was no pressure in the HST and it needed a new one.
I cracked into the thing and was hoping to find something glaringly wrong. My untrained eye didn't see anything too bad, and this is just based on pictures from previous posts. So I put the whole thing back together, flushed out as much of the ATF from transmission and hydraulic reservoir (tried to take care of the "have you used new SUDT and new filters" argument). Waited for hydraulic pressure test kit and adapters to come in. And now I'm get ~25 psi at the charge pump. No pressure at the forward port. But that seems to be expected since I don't have sufficient charge pressure?
My first questions are: which part would you guys recommend changing first? I have no problem taking the HST off and apart as many times as needed to make sure I don't purchase unnecessary parts. So, should I just start with the charge pump (really just the ring and sprocket), or do those two parts from charge pump not go bad? They look fine, so should I start replacing the valve plate and swashplate on pump? And do cylinder and pistons for pump? If those are bad, would I also need replace the motor cylinder and pistons, valve plate, and swashplate? Or is that hard to tell until I get sufficient charge pressure? I guess I'm mostly wondering, would you guys just buy the used HST on ebay for $2k, or start chipping away at parts, which obviously add up to $2k quickly. Sorry about the million questions, but lastly, do you think the use of the ATF ruined the whole HST?
Lastly, does anyone know the size adapter I'll need to check the dynamic brake pressure port?
Sorry about the novel. Thanks in advance for any advice.
In the pictures I attached, there's oil over the pump valve plate, giving it a weird look, the wear doesn't feel horrible, but there's a little there. Obviously the fingernail hangup is subjective.
