X900 Rear Axle Question

What started as a torn inner CV joint boot on my 2015 X900 has turned into a likely axle replacement. Normally this would not be a big issue but in this case, since the outer shell of the inner CV joint does not seem to readily want to slide out of the transmission, it just might be.
After studying the service manual and its limited information and looking at several parts diagrams i’m not sure that it should just slide out. In the parts diagram there‘s an outer snap ring at the end of the splines that I can see no purpose for other than to retain the outer CV half Inside the transmission case.
My question, does anyone know the procedure to remove the rear axle from the transmission case? I have looked for videos on this and they all seem to be about the 900 which is a totally different animal.
Thanks!

I’ve looked throughout the WSM (WorkShopManual) and it doesn’t mention any such.

Here’s what is ALL that is said about disassembly/reassembly of the rear:

It should probably be noted…that what is commonly called the “axle”…. is actually misnamed. The shaft which connects the knuckle-joint, the bevel gear shaft, and the constant velocity joint…. ALL are considered the “front axle”….. as an assembly. The ”axle” is not that shaft which connects the differential to the knuckle.

Thank you Geohorn.
The component I am referring to is the rear axle which in the WSM refers to item 3 as “Rear Axle Slotted Nut” as in your first picture. I realize this is a CV assembly and I may have taken descriptive liberties in an effort to clarify what I’m saying. If so, I apologize.
The front axle assembly is fine, thankfully!

The only reason I posted the pic of the front axle description was because that illustration provides the Kubota nomenclature/names for the components. (They don’t do that in their rear axle pics.)
