Thinking of adding a L3400 to the fleet

I have some clearing/landscaping plans around the property that would lend nicely to a backhoe. Im looking at an 06 L3400 with 250 hours. It appears to be a good shape with the backhoe only slightly used. Any known bad habits or problems with this model? Any ideas on what a reasonable price should be? thanks Mike up here in snowy Maine.. (just got the RTV900 stuck... a little too much snow)

Two things to check. The L3400 has some production changes to the 3pt hitch system. Just stroke the arms up and down and see if they move smoothly. Typicaly not an issue if your doing doing lots of grading work on the 3pt.

There are two revisions of the BH75, there is now a BH75A that has a stronger dipper cylinder. Not a deal breaker, just don't do anything dumb with the backhoe if you have the older version with the smaller cylinder.

Great info! thanks... in my research there also is something about problems with an "over-run clutch" on the PTO I saw mwntioned. Any thoughts on that? I have a B7500 and hope the L3400 will be as great a tool as that has been..

There's also a B3030 with backhoe for sale close... How does that compare to the L3400? It appears to use the same hoe...

thanks! Mike

Did the deed today. Purchased an 06 B3030HST with loader and Woods backhoe. It seems like a lot more machine than the B7500 which has been great for 7 years. I'm still uncertain whether the 3030 will be it's replacement or partner. Any thoughts on the B3030 or the Woods backhoe? I'm wavering a bit on buyers remorse!
