Spring is Just Around the Corner

For all of the folks wanting a RTV now you are able to justify it to the other family member.... You need it, they need it ..esp the hydraulic lift , to haul all the dirt and redo the flower beds and also to haul stuff for the garden. With the hydraulic dump, you can lift a lever and spread dirt, dump dirt, haul limbs, dump limbs, rubbish anything.. It saves a lot of back aches. You need it they need it!! Good Luck, bordercollie

Springs been here in N CA for months as winter decided not to show up. Another shirtsleeve balmy 65+ day with bright sunshine. My Solar system is purring away and all i hear is chainsaws all day.

Winter barely showed up here in W. PA.

We only had 2 snows that put down enough for the kids to go sledding. We did get the occasional dusting.

February, our traditional cold month gave us only 2 days where the temp didn't get up to at least 32 during the day. Rest of the month is going to be relatively warm as well. On a normal year, we would get up to 32 just a couple times in the month.

animals and plants here are acting funny. Creeks are barely running when they should be at flood stage. Folsom Lake (aka the big ugly mud puddle) is empty. Doesn't bode well.

We had an awful drought last year and the year before during the summer and early Fall. This late winter ,we finally started getting rain and have finally got our ponds full. I hope this summer is better so I can raise a decent garden. Our well wasn't strong enough to water the cows close by and the garden too. The wildlife was in dire straits too... I pray this will be a better year. I hope your ponds and creeks will fill.
Where are you roughly located Vintovka? edit : Sorry about that, I see N Cal now. . How are you doing D&D? Got your message but my reply wouldn't go through- hope you got the weather you wanted . bordercollie

Hey.........thanks for the reply.......Finally something new posted ......so let's see if this reply gets back to you..........thanks.......Dennis

Easy winter here in Maine so far... We have to haul sleds 50 miles north of here to have any decent snowmobiling. It's been easy on the wood pile too. There's always March, and Maine doesn't usually give up winter easy! ;-)

Eastern Kansas has had no winter, just a cool spell. One snow of maybe 2". It was gone in a day. To be 65 tomorrow. But it is not over yet. Remember some big snows in March and April.

Bordercollie: Your suggestion is almost verbatim the tune I sung to justify my purchasing our RTV900 as a "tool" 5 years ago. And a great tool it has been ... but most of all it's a grandchildren hauler. The first thing they ask when they visit us is, "Can you take us riding on the mule?" The second thing they ask is, "Awww ... do we HAVE to take a bath tonight?"

Wow Heatwave, We all call it the mule too.. :) Those grand kids have the right ideal about the bath too. I remember that. :) Oh to be young again. :) bordercollie

My RTV is virtually a prosthetic apparatus. It was down for a week and I was pretty much house bound. I live on a very steep hillside and while its no race car it has never failed to get me where i need to go --and back.

That is a beautiful view . - I feel the same way you do about the RTV - they are truly a necessity to many of us. Again, that view would demand a chair and for me along with a diet coke and a bag of Zapps and some quiet time to take it all in. :) bordercollie

Every time for the last 10 days or so that we get a weather front with southerly winds one sees flocks of geese winging over. Not just one or two birds going to another pond; but the huge V's with hundreds of birds per formation. Last week got up to do my 2 in the morning thing and heard them HIGH and moving fast...........

The daffodils are almost finished, blue birds are nest building in their new apartments or fighting over them, tulips are up and budding, forsythia popping out and peach trees are pink buds ready to burst.........IT's HERE..........God bless.......Dennis

Here in Central Pennsylvania the Geese have been landing in our small lake for the past two weeks. Spring is on its way. We usually have 180 Geese on the lake for the summer. Hey Dennis, if you can divert those Geese westward, I sure would appreciate it. Send those Geese to BCZoom.........LOL......

It snowed like mad for about 20 minutes today. Just enough to make the ground white and these clay roads slick as can be. It has done that about 40 times this winter and the biggest snow we have had was before Halloween. I have been leaving the plow on the truck and it seems to be keeping any big snow away!

Sorry Rusty but we can't take the geese. Pittsburgh International Airport put up signs for them to stay 25 miles to the East or West (the birds choice) to avoid mid-air collisions with commercial aircraft.

Sure was warm today. In the 70's.
Rode the bike down the road today 65 mph in short sleeve shirt.
Comfortable it was. Windy. But nice weather.

Likewise here. (An hour north of San Francisco). Second warmest day for this date ever. This is getting spooky, we never had a winter and now its early summer.

Late January through February should get most of the year's rainfall here. We're in trouble if we don't have a rainy season this year.

Onion sets are in the ground.
Tilled the garden for weeds again as it has been so wet that it's really hard to kill them with just tilling...........
More geese flying over...........TORNADO last night just over the ridge with more coming in tonight.....
Joined Jamie in spirit with a ride up to the top of the ridgeline and back around through the valley in late April riding clothes and a huge smile....God bless......Dennis

Jamie. I've spoken with my dog about it. She agrees. When you're on a bike (or have your head out the window as she does) while driving 65, it is windy. :yum::17875:
