spare tire holder for my bed rails!!!

<P mce_keep="true">a good buddy asked for a spare tire holder for the bed rails he got from me well this is what i came up with it's simple but should do the trick. it works with the sockets that are on the rails i put a flat bar clip to keep it from swinging out plus you can tighten up the bolt on the socket too. i used my hpx front tire for a model the bolt hole patterns are the same for the rtv's and the hpx's so it should work"i hope"lol so what ya'll think.</P>

<P mce_keep="true">as soon as i can i wanna get my shop blaster going so i can blast this stuff. right now i am buffing every piece before i put it together then after i buff all the welds then paint it .i wanna get the powder coat thing going to but the money just ain't there yet so we'll just have to settle for paint for now.</P>

<P mce_keep="true">i have a ton of iron and two welding machines a nd a torch. but no rtv to mount it to to make sure the mounts fit. if someone was to bring me thier rtv for the weekend they would have a free bumper out of the deal. but as of right now the bumper is sitting on the shop floor.i tried to ask the dealer down here for customers names but thats a no go unless i buy one from him .but he wants a few k more than anyone else. and to tell you the trueth i really wouldn't buy anything from him at all the way he treated me when i went ask about it.i will make another afternoon trip to the dealer and get some more measurments and make it the way i think it will work do you wanna be the test monkey for me ??</P>
 
<P mce_keep="true">tommy, your spare tire mount looks great. now we've got to think of something else for you build for our rtv's. i think that one was too easy for you. someone out there needs to come up with an idea that will challenge your skills.</P>

<P mce_keep="true">i need a picture of the underside of the bed. and a measurement of the little tubing it sits on. i think they are like 29" something but get me a good inside measurement. plus i need you to put a level on the same tubing and let the tail gate down and take a picture of it from the side with the level in place.i need to know what is the off set of the beams the bed sits on and the bumper clearing the rear of the bed and the tail gate.</P>

Tommy, these are the rails you built for me in 08. This the style I want again without the accessories. I was bigdeer on the old site but couldn't log in with it on the new site.
 
I changed the design like I mentioned of the phone .if you like these you'll lve the new design.ill see if I can find some pics of them .oh .man I'm building aheadache rack for a hotshot driver.I can't wait to post some pics of it.I have been snapping a shot of it at diferent stages.well gotta go for now
 
Made mine from double sided Unistrut, and it slides into hitch receiver for easy removal, then when I have my backpacker installed, it slides into that.

Thanks, I texted you the photo's with the measurements. Looking forward to see what you come up with
 
here are some pictures of the new design. sorry I don't have any pics of them mounted to an rtv cause the guy I made them for ended up being a one time poster and I never seen him post again.he called me to tell me they fitted up nice and he really liked them and that's the last I heard from him.the new ones fit into the 1" sockets on the bed with no bolting or screwing them to the bed what so ever.when you need to take them off just slide them out the sockets .I think they was around 10" high if I remember correctly. I can angle the ends like you wanted and I can make them any height you want.sorry for the huge pics .if someone is puter savy could you please resize them for me so they don't look so huge.
