So what’s the deal with the RTV recall?

I was called just now by my nearest Kubota dealer telling me Kubota have issued a recall on recent RTV products, and I am not to use my RTV X 1130 until a technician had been able to schedule a trip out to undertake repairs and adjustment.

Bloke said the issue was something to do with the factory setting of the ball joints. I hope my wheels don’t drop off!

Does anybody know more about this, what’s going on and what the fix looks like?

Hope we can get back into the RTV soon. We are using it daily now. Awesome tool

This is where you check for official recalls if you are in the states. If you can't find it there, then I would be right there, standing and watching the "tech". My local dealer won't come out and do anything at my farm. They make you bring it into their shop and they will get around to looking at it in a few weeks. Order parts, which will take another few weeks to receive and then get back into the back of the line again to have the parts and labor done in a few weeks.

I have had a few recall on my x1100c. There was some suspension issues at first and then the fire flap and lastly the floor mat. My dealer sent a man out for two of those and the other was done before i purchased. So recalls haven't been to bad for me. But my gripe is that it seems that these machines are delivered to the customer with the operating controls maladjusted in every direction. I think KTC should train every dealer with a pre delivery inspection including making these adjustments correct. It only takes about 30 min.

Local dealer called me just before the end of the year about the ball joint recall (2024 x1100c), scheduled a pickup and returned the next day. I didn't ask about details so can't help there much. It was a few days between call and pick-up, but they never mentioned anything about not using it until fixed. A search on the internet turned up a NZ govt page (https://www.productsafety.govt.nz/recalls/kubota-utility-vehicles) that says it is related to potential of improper torque on the nuts and bolts

Thanks for that information. Sounds like the same issue and probably not a drama if I still use the X1130 until the check is made…

I'm in Canada and haven't gotten any notices for my 2021. Maybe just the new ones affected?

Only recalls I ever got was to add some reflector stickers and to cut the floor mat around the throttle pedal, which I did not do because my mat is fine and not curling.

yes my understanding is it is just the 2024 run, all models. The ball joint fixtures haven’t been tensioned correctly at the factory so they chasing up new owners and checking/ retensioning to spec. I drove mine again this morning despite being advised not to . I don’t think it’s a big deal, and the tension isn’t far off spec.
