SNOW (Money from Heaven)

Finally got some good snow. Good plowable snow. We had a storm come through last Wednesday left about 6 inches of snow here so I got to do some good work and make six months worth of payments on the new RTV Workhorse.

Looks like you are set up to do some serious snow plowing. Chains all around as well. No slipping or sliding for you. That Boss V plow is great isn't it! Nothing like that RTV cab with heater to keep you toasty when pushing all that snow.

We are to get significant snow fall Friday night according to the weather guessers.

Keep safe out there.

Sweet! Is that a Christmas Angel lit up of the back of the spreader? It looks like Christmas lights in the picture.

Speaker has a light on the back so you can see how much salt is coming out. I also have a backup cam on the back so I can really adjust the salt to the correct amount. As for the chains on the front, I have drive-ways that are at or close to 45 degree angle. Chains on all 4 wheels is my only option. I had thought about tire studs, but I don't think they would provide the grip that the V-Bar chains do. Any input would be appreciated. A Special thanks to Toolman77 for the great mirrors and the speaker box for the tune that keep me going. 36 hours in the RTV plowing snow since last Wednesday. $$$$$$

Nice setup. 6 months of payments, not bad at all for a couple days of work. Hopefully you get 6 months more of payments / work with one or two more snowfalls this year.

I just got in from snow plowing 9 rural driveways. All but one are gravel (crushed stone). We have an average of about 12 inches. Isn't it amazing what work these RTV's are capable of doing. I have a 2012 1100 RTV with worksite tires. I am using a Boss - v snow plow and have 6 cinder blocks in the bed. Most of the time plowing in 4wd. Plenty of power and weight for this snow. Of course other 1100 users know you have to turn the heater down or you will break out in a sweat otherwise. One property I plowed was 3 miles away on back roads so I use the smv sign, 4 way flashers and other LED lights and flashers. I was dragging the undercarriage all the way. Of note, on the way back home I came upon a guy with a new 4wd New Holland tractor (mid-size) with a scraper blade on back. He had managed to high center all 4 wheels and was struck on top of a pile of snow. He was more embarrassed than anything, but very thankful when I pulled him loose with a tow strap I always keep in the RTV. My adventures for the day. Enjoying hot soup and freshly baked bread now.

Dang Kiefer. I'm only 30-50 miles north of you and all we got was a dusting.

Not that I'm complaining as I don't have a plow for the RTV, the ATV's 4WD is acting up so I'd be on the tractor with the 6' scraper blade... but it works well, if you're not in a hurry.

Just got in from 18 hours of plowing snow with an Awesome Machine! 3 of the drive were at 35 degree angles. The RTV won't push uphill that steep. Had a hard time getting to the top of the driveway getting through the snow & ice. Once at the top, it's all downhill pushing. 3 hotels, 1 movie theater, KOA Campground, 3 church lots, 1 housing development with 8 miles of roads, Dunkin Donuts (my favorite), 3 post offices, Quality Plus Gas Station, I can't even tell how many driveway, and finally my own driveway. Now it's shower and BED!!!
God Night All!

Stay safe, I know it is a lot of work but you have a great machine for doing it. I am sure you like it better than your ATV. At least your staying warm!

Just keep an eye on the chain tightness and you should be ok I think.A loose chain would be your majoy culprit of damage ans tugging in things.I think for what you are doing as just plowing and using them for the xtra traction you should be OK.I always deflated my tires then added chains as tight as i could get them then re inflate the tires adding just a tad more air and that keeps them good and snug.

A photo from the snowstorm Jonas. (A trail opened up in our back woods with the RTV.) Zoom, the snow was pretty selective where it got dumped. Where we got 10-12 inches, friends about 20 miles to the east of us got about 17 inches. It will start to melt by the middle of the week I think.

We ended up with about16 to 18 inches at most. Plowing again today. Totaled up all the invoices and it came to $4800.00
Not bad for 4 days of Snowlowing. A couple of days rest and I'm ready for the next snow storm.
