RTV 900 Water Pump Replacement

Looks like my water pump bit the dust and is in need of replacement. Has anyone done that job and willing to offer any tips/advice? I did a search on the site but did not find any threads.
Thanks

I needed to replace the thermostat housing which was a major PITA. For best access the seat and plastic center cover had to be removed.
Sounds easy enough but the cover screws along the floor were rusted. A combination of cutting and chiseling was required to remove the screws.

I would replace the thermostat housing gasket while servicing the pump. It's dang near impossible to remove the T stat housing screws with the pump installed.

Poor design for servicing IMO.

Wow. I never had that problem. What are your symptoms beside running hot? Leaking around it ?
Thanks for the reply Collie!
No leaks nor running hot issues - there was some very loud squealing sounds some time ago - thought it was a slipping fan belt. Replaced the fan belt about 3 months ago an the noise disappeared. Then this week a different noise was noticed - this one was more a clanking sound that tracked with the speed of engine rpm. Upon further investigation I noticed a spray of fluid all over the engine compartment - - it was not oil but antifreeze. Shut engine off and sure enough I could wobble the fan assembly quite a bit - - sure sign of a failed bearing on the water pump.
Kubota wants about $160 for a replacement w/o gasket. Searched around and found an alternative for about $50 with gasket. Waiting for it to arrive. I'll update with pictures upon teardown.

Agree -very poor design for matainance! I will need to do the exact same cabin surgery on my RTV900 to get to the water pump. Basically take the entire seat area of the cabin totally out. A real PITA!!
