RTV 900 Back Glass ?

Been looking at the Kubota website, and didn't know if I overlooked it, or does Kubota NOT make a back glass for the 900 series units ? Winter fixin to set in, in my applications, don'tneeddoors, butthinking about having a back glass to knock off the cold wind blowing inon the back of my neck.

Know I could make one, but would like to get a OEM if possible ~~~

Also, seen on the website they added the Special Edition units on it.... Anybody know what the going price is on these, not that I want one, just curious *****

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

I just bought a Kubota door kit for my 900. There is a large frame that fits over the rear mesh where you are supposed to attach the clear vinyl window. I haven't installed it yet but think I'm going to replace it with a piece of plexiglass.

Did the door kit come from Kubota ?

Wonder if who-ever will sell just the frame with glass ?

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

No rear glass for the 900, but there is a plexi-glass style rear window...it's part of the cab you can get that Curtis Cab makes for Kubota.

Oh, the RTV900SE retails for $1,000 more than a standard worksite model...it's a great value for what all you get.

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

I also got tired of the cold wind, and especially the dust, so I bought a piece of plexiglas and made my own rear windscreen. I used rubber grommets and the existing screen bolts to attach it to the ROPS. I learned that you should have a real sharp bit and drill slowly, the plexiglass will crack otherwise. I weatherstripped around the edges to keep out as much dust and cold air as possible. I haven't really given it a work out yet, so time will tell if it will hold up.

Yes, the door kit is from Kubota. The instructions seem easy but time consuming. Haven't had time to start installing them yet. They are hard frame doors with cloth covering and appear to be durable.

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

Wish they would sell me just the back glass section & frame, or however it comes . For I have no use for doors, always bailing in and out of the machine, doors would just slow me down, and get into my way for my applications .... I would probobly wear out a good set of hinges quickly .....

Ask your dealer...they probably can get you just the rear window and hardware.

kas,

Click on Captains name on the left side of his post.
When it pulls up the screen with his info, on the right side of the screen is an option "Send Captain a private message". Use that to send him a PM.

If/when you receive a PM, click on "Inbox" in the very top right corner of any screen.

That rear window set up for the cab... mounts on the outside of the rear protective screen. It would not work with your air intake. I do think they make a different air intake, that mounts to the metal roof to get around that. I have not seen the different air intakes to know what specifically is different.

I want my back window inside the screen so I don't damage it with a stray toss of a peice of firewood... so I will make something myself.

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

I have soft doors and rear window on my 900. The soft window has snaps top and bottom and velcro on the sides. I also have the High ROPS air intake that bolts to the roof if I remember correctly. The soft window slides in behind the air cleaner. I can get pictures pretty fast if you need a look. It is only 2 years old and has worked great. I do remove it when doing firewood and of course over the summer months.

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

Two Guns,

Took these with my phone. If you would like better pictures I can take some with a real camera and post to my web site. Also, if you need dimensions on amount of clearance etc.. I would be happy to get them.

Re: RTV 900 Back Glass ?

Jamie... If I remember correctly from your pictures... you have a different air intake than DigOrange.?
