Repair or Replace

I have a 2005 900 with 1730 hrs pretty good shape with the exception of needing a first and reverse shifting fork replaced. Jumping out of reverse in a hard pull.I think the transmission has to come out to replace the fork. I also have the opportunity to purchase a 2018 X900 with 140 hrs for $12500.00 . Any thoughts?

Tough call. Sounds like a great price on the 2018 RTV.
I'm thinking I'd opt for both. Fixed you can get 5 or 6k for your 2005 if you fix it.
Then you'd be into a 2018 for 7k plus cost of repair. Seems like a no brainer from my high level view of the situation.

I just went and looked at the X900 and the hours are correct and it has been stored inside. If the dust was washed off it would look like a new one. overkill on the service 3 oil changes engine - 1 HST change - 2-HST filters changes. Think I'll go ahead and buy the X900 and repair the 2005. I know the history because the owner is a friend of mine.

Congrats. That sounds like a plan. I do believe you will be so glad you went this route.

I was lucky to find one similar a few years ago. a 2015 RTV x1100c. I was looking at an 1140 and ready to drive to Kenucky to pick it up. He turned down my offer. Thank goodness. Next day a person I knew (not well but an acquaintance) put this one up for sale. I made an offer and he took it. Lucky me.

Sorry about the late update. I Went ahead and purchased the X900 and listed the 900 yesterday. The first caller drove from Kentucky and bought it. Had 3 additional callers wanting it.

Awesome. When moving up I've never had a hard time selling my old RTV. They go like hotcakes. :D
