pics of ya'll monster tricked out rtv's or any utv .

nelly,
I like your air shocks but, at $2200.00 I'm going to have past on that addition. But I am going to put them on my wish list.

Captain,
I have an 04 kubota rtv w/ soft doors similar to the hard doors on stubby62's. I'd like to install the CJ mirrors (like yours) on my rtv. My question is do u think that the mirrors have enough length & adjustment so u can see to rear through the door window? The problem appears to be the distance from the leading edge of the door to where the window starts. The driver's side doesn't appear to be too much of a problem. It's the pass. side that is an issue. Of course I could just do the driver's side. I could order the driver's side & see if it looks like it will work on the pass. side by having someone hold it in place. Both mirrors appear to be similar. Any input is appreciated.

Here is my 500, Top and Windshield are factory, I built the doors and rear window. I installed an electric heater, defroster, and overhead gun rack.

Capt,
I was just out sittin' in my rtv & think the mirrors will work I may have to lean forward a little bit to use the pass. side but, I can do that.

Nice job on the doors and window. What material did you use for the door panels?

Keifer

The panels are ABS plastic from Farco Plastics Warehouse in Memphis TN. The frames are steel, I got sliding window channel from a marine supply on the web. Side windows and rear window are 1/4 Lexan also from Farco. The plastic is 1/8 thick and comes in 4 x 8 sheets. Price was $39.00 per sheet 2 years ago when I built these and 4x8 sheet of 1/4 Lexan was $120.00. I have about $600.00 in doors and rear window. I did all the labor, it took about 4 or 5 days off and on. Factory doors were $2,000.00.

some of the new lights I added
2 under the roof that can shine out 200 feet
side lights for work or looking what is off the trails at night
and the start of my consol with dome light on it.
Still needs to be finished and painted in the spring

04 900 rtv

Here's some pics of my 04 rtv. It has 27's on aluminum wheels, spray-on bed liner, work lights on the rear roof, fog & driving lights on the front. I made a custom mount so I could install a Warn 4700# winch on the front. The overhead console is custom - couldn't afford the Kubota console. I bought the Kubota back-up beeper switch & made a mount to activate a back-up light. Installed the Kubota heater in a different location 'cause I didn't want to loose a cup holder & DC converter. Added a spin-on fuel filter from a marine app. which removes water. The engine has frost-plug heater & lower radiator hose heater (it's cold up here). To help keep the oil clean is a Amsoil by-pass filter. Hvy duty front strut helps with clearance for the front tires. There's a Bad Boy horn (Harbor Freight) in the right front wheel-well - I don't have the muddy conditions that some of u have to deal with. Down the road I'd like to add a turbo - don't really need it, just want it!

Sweet setup! A couple things I noticed. You don't have Tommy's stick stoppers. I like the inverter setup but can you tell us why you put the 110v receptacle under the bed? I'd think that would be problematic since you need to lift the bed to use the plugs. Scratch that receptacle question if what's plugged in are block heaters that never get unplugged.

bczoom,
Yeah, u r right the receptacle under the box is for the heaters. And the inverter is under the dash on the passenger's side. My better half whined enough about not being able to see when it's raining so got her a wiper kit for her side. I wonder if I can get by calling it her birthday & Xmas gift - yeah right. Harbor Freight has a small 12v heater &/or fan ($10 on sale) that I mounted just above the dash to use as a defroster - going to put 1 on the passenger side also. I'll post a photo if anyone is interested. I got a rear view mirror from GM vehicle (one with driver's & passenger's side lights) to use for the interior mirror - the stem could be a little longer but it work okay. Also, purchased the hand throttle kit from "K" & I'm waiting until it warms up to install - no heat in my garage yet. Stick Stoppers - going to have to get a set of those!!

Console

I know most of ya'll have already seen this console I made last winter but I thought I would post a few pictures here too.. I have more pictures on the older thread :http://www.nettractortalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14341&highlight=console . ( This one is made of wood with a fiberglass/resin overcoat and some bed liner paint. One of the pictures shows how the wiring can be easily accessed by letting the front just swing down. I got the console light/eyeglass holder out of a wreck and the storage box I made of wood.) . I like the switches that light up so I will know if I leave them on- at least they catch my attention easier.. They have really been handy with all the projects on the farm. It was an easy and fun build- also the wood and fiberglass /resin help cover up my mistakes. :) I measure 3 times and cut 2x- at least it seems. :) bordercollie

bordercollie,
It's handy to have the console drop down like that for future additions. Mine does also & each of the 3 bottom panels come off for additional access.

razerface, the 2 heaters plug into the outlet box & the cord coming out of the top of the box is common for both outlets. If u look close the cord goes over the top of the frame. There's a cable clamp (in the photo) that keeps the cord secured to the cab frame. then there's a 110 plug-in on the end of the cord. It's just so I don't have to make the 2 separate connections for the 2 heaters - I'm lazy. During the winter I only use the "K" once or twice a week so I keep a battery maintenance charger on it 24/7 & then I turn on the heaters for awhile 4f I use it. I'm thinking of a way to preheat the oil also - I know they use to have a magnetic heater that u put on the bottom of the pan - I don't know if someone still makes one - could try JC Whitney.

I put a stick-on oilpan heater on my 1100 and connected to the same plug-in for my frost plug. It starts great in -22 celcius with no glow plugs. The stick on is very low profile. maybe about 3\16" thick i think.
Great modifications guys. I'll have to take some pictures and post them. Mods done so far are:
Ridgid LED roof lights
Command start
3500lb wireless remote winch(too small) but has saved me a few times.( and pulled out my brothers JD 850i)
Rifle rack inside cab
bed liner
120v cab heater
bigger speakers
Turbo kit just arrived. not installed yet.

6mmrem, Where did u buy the oilpan heater & the turbo kit? Let me know how the install goes. I'm interested in putting a turbo on my 04 900 rtv.
Thanks,
Popo
