One day at work

"... neither a borrower or a lender be." That saying applies to books mostly but has application to RTV's, tools, guns, wives or anything else you want to keep in working order. LOL

Cheap die cast steel....just what I hate to see from the tooth gear....that probably broke first then the rest went to hell.

I was looking at the 3rd picture....that tooth gear and by the looks of it all the breaks look clean but the lower left gear....looks like its been crack there for awhile since its not shinny or bad light from the picture.
I priced out a tranny at my kubota dealer a few years ago as they were replacing one and I thought they told me 4500 for a new tranny.
Seems like today if much breaks its cheaper to replace the unit than have it fixed with labor these days....if doing yourself might be cheaper....but you know how much they get for parts...you may be beating r head against a rock.
I know in car and truck trannys if you take the pan off and there is parts in bottom of the pan just put pan back on and by a rebuilt or new tranny today as parts are outa site.

Yea that's about right. We had priced one around 6K if I remember correct. I don't think we're getting too good of a deal with our dealer. Between the trans. and the motor that's well over half of a new rtv. We were able to repair this one and return it to our fleet.

Yepper, my Harley bottom end (106,000 miles) just took a shit and it's cheaper to put in a new motor than to overhaul, $3k with motor exchange on a new Harley motor with warranty. Soon to have a 25 year old scooter with a new heart .............. :)
