I still have the hand pump extractor. All I have to do is pump a few times and then it creates a siphon and it removes the oil automatically after that. Easy peezy.

That Jabsco outfit is just a 12 volt diaphragm pump with a tube attached and mounted to a bucket lid. that would be super easy tu build. i do like the stiff but flexible tubes that came with my extractor though, it makes it easy to get to the lowest part of the pan. and for the price of the jabsco outfit you can almost purchase one like mine with all of the attachments. I like DD better for the money. JMHO.:tiphat:
 
Ordered my “old man oil change” device today. Supposed to be delivered today.

I have 3 kubota that this will be used on.
 
I used to have a little pump that you put on a drill for doing my boat. Not near as nice or as clean as the devices listed here.
 
I sincerely hope that everyone that buys one of the contraptions enjoys theirs as much as i do mine. one tip for the RTV that helps with mine is that the poly probe i use to go through the dipstick hole has about a 45 degree angle cut on the end that will hold the probe off of the pan some. i considered trimming it flat so i could get more oil out but instead found that for the first time i used it to just bump the bottom gently and then mark the tube and then put some pressure on it while twisting and the tube will bend a little and seat against the pan bottom. i then mark it again for a visual reference the next time i used it. seems to work everytime for me but your experience ma vary. good luck
 
My device is supposed to be delivered Tuesday not "today" as I stated in my reply. Fingers were faster than my brain. Oh well that might be part of the "old Man" issue. Anyway I am looking forward to using it. It will really be nice for the mowers where you don't have to take the deck off to change oil. Thanks for the info again.
 
Received my JohnDow used oil extractor today. Have to pick up a couple of air fittings then I will be ready to go. Looks like a well build piece of equipment. Ready to use it when I get the fittings.
