Moving to a new server

I plan to move NTT to a new server very soon, hopefully later today or sometime this weekend. Right now I'm working on moving netmusictalk ...and I'm having 'issues'. Once I get that all figured out and I've got the process down I'll be shutting down NTT to make the move.

The outage will be 2 to 10 hours. New DNS propagation warns it can take up to 48 hours to get to all places on the internet. The last time this happened I was one of the last to get my DNS updated so, the site was down longer than expected. I hope that is not the case with NTT, but don't fret, I'll have it back in action as soon as I possibly can. Wish me luck!!!!!! :D

Doc, that is one of the unwritten rules of the internet. He who initiates a dns change is among the last to be able to see the new location.

Doc this is good to hear. Hopefully moving to the new server will end the headaches. Is this a whole new ISP?

The move is now complete. :D Whew, had me worried there for awhile, but all is up and working now. Except for images. There is a known bug with the way images are saved and uploaded. I'm still working on that one. I'll have it fixed soon.

Thanks!

Looks good! This is noticeably faster.

Are you thinking of switching FF over too? It is surprisingly slow at times.

The images I have included in posts look fine.

Thanks for the improvements!

Your all welcome. :thumb: :D

Glad to hear the images are working here. i am still working on the old server getting odds and ends tied up. This was the last site before www.dothq.com which will then close the Chicago server down. I had to do dothq.com last so that I would have email throughout this whole process.
I'm glad to hear it's faster. I expect some tweaks and tuning will be needed as we settle in here.
