Some of the early tractors had no screen on the hydraulic pump, but I think the 65 does. If the standpipe O rings are good, I would go next to the screen. Drain the rear housing (probably needs that anyway) and remove the right side cover with PTO shift lever. Look inside for a tin cover about 3"' diameter on the back of the lift pump. If you have a screen it probably hasn't been cleaned in years. It's no fun working through the hole but it can be done. The tin cover comes off, there's a threaded rod holding it on, then the screen will come up. You might be surprised at what you find.
