Little Trading

I bought my 900 new in 2006 and I love it, even more since I put on the Hand Throttle, but today a guy offered me another one.

He needed some money so I traded him a gun and some cash for another 2006 RTV 900. This one has 600 hours more than mine(1600)total. But this thing is loaded, signal lights, front and rear work lights, strobe(with broken lens),heater (like mine), hardtop and doors, new Essex Tires, Console with CB, CD player, Fans, six toggles for all accessories and loudspeaker on top.

It hasn't had the care mine has but it runs. I am going to clean it up and see what all it needs besides the obvious.

By that I mean, IT IS STUCK IN LOW RANGE.....Yes there had to be something didn't there.

I called my guy at the dealer and he said it was probably a shift fork or maybe just the shift fork in the top of the trans. After I get it cleaned up I guess we will see.

Wish me Luck guys...........................................

That has been the problem before inn others. That year had hydraulic dump valves. To make shifting easier when machine got into a bind.
My bet it is the yolk...

Yea, That sounds like the problem. The shifting fork is notorious for trouble making.
It sounds like a loaded machine. :drive2: Good Luck . collie

Looks like someone is smiling down on you. You made a good deal so just hang in there and keep on making the good choices as to what to do..... God bless....Dennis

Fixed

Well Gentlemen,

I got into the top of the trans and found a broken shift pin. Replaced it this afternoon and everything works fine so far. Shifts better than mine does.

Since it works I will now change all fluids. Also both rear axles have already been replaced with ones that have grease zerks in the u-joints. I shouldn't have to worry about that for a while. The front driveshaft I think is bad though.

More to come.
