L35 stops forward and backward motion in mid job.

2014 L35 with FEL and BT900, moving trees after Helene. Push a lifted tree (With Forks attached to FEL) and went to reverse.....no movement. Now no forward or backward movement. FEL still lifts and lowers. Wheel moves, or tries to move, when clutch let out.

Hydro fluid level is fine (dipstick check and FEL up, down and tilt)

Shut down, restarted several times, no change.
Slid underneath, no visible linkage problems seen.

I am not a mechanic, so looking for something simple I may be missing.
Either calling an onsite mechanic or having it towed to dealership will cost a mint, so appreciate any help, will answer and questions.

Doug

Sorry for the issue. Sadly I have no idea. Never seen anyone with this problem before.
Please update here once you get it figured out. Interesting.

Thanks for the response, Doc. Without your response popping up, I would probably never have revisited the thread.

First, the problem is solved!
While I stated I was no mechanic, God has blessed (or cursed) me with a logical and analytical way of thinking. My ancestry (Scottish) and depression era Dad have also made me squeeze a dime before I spend a dollar.

That being said, The tractor was working, then it wasn't, meaning 1 thing happened to cause the problem.

I knew when I was pushing the cut section of tree there were limbs attached snapping, running under the tractor and just general stress from many directions.

My first thought was some linkage had been knocked loose. Checking all of those as best I could without taking covers off etc, I saw nothing askew.

Now to the solution, and I can't explain the why, just know what I did that made the tractor work. I cleared all limbs from underneath to slide under and visually inspect. During this I noticed a dripping of fluid on the right side, near a big white filter mounted underneath the floorpan for the right foot. The filter screws onto a 90 degree angle pipe which goes into a flexible hose turning underneath the tractor to the left. I squeezed the clamp, muscled that filter and the short 90 degree angle pipe, pulling the back of the filter out while pushing the front pipe in, until it completely fit back into the flexible hose. I then replaced the clamp.

At this point I may have stopped to pray, can't really remember, before mounting my L35, cranking it. pulling it to reverse, releasing the clutch. Then she proceeded to back from underneath the tree. I moved the lever to forward and she moved forward.

Pretty sure I had a second prayer of thanks at that moment.
In summary, I could never both operate the tractor and view this leak at the same time. It may have been pumping fluid like crazy for all I know. I simply know the fix fixed it.

If allowed, I will upload pictures.

I can not tell you how many time these user groups have helped me, and not just Tractors. Duramax, 59 Chevy, Gravely ZT... You name it. My wish is that contributers to any of these user type groups understand the contributions they make to others. And sometimes years later. My Kubota is a 2014, 10 years old...
So, thanks to the folks who take the time to sit at a keyboard and relate their findings. I have been helped so much I can't even quantify my gratefulness.
One of the few good things the "Worldwide Intranet" has done. My thanks to Al Gore for inventing it.

Thank you for letting us know the solution and the great pictures also. Yes indeed, the prayers do guide us. I couldn't make it without my talks with Him.
