I got bad news today!

At three o'clock today I was notified by my dealer that there's nothing Kubota can do about the slack in the X-1100! The Kubota rep said and I quote: "The 1100 was engineered to have play so the rear end can follow uneven terrain". He can order new parts and they will be exactly the same as the parts on it!

This slack will enable the introduction of muddy water into the area and major wear will start. Without mentioning other name brands, I've not seen any "play" in their suspension. I'm standing behind my dealer and I still like my X-11 very much but what's the next step?

Without getting into a bunch of detail right now I believe with the help of a machine shop I can repair mine..... BUT

I didn't buy mine to work on but to work with it, all the while doing mods to it make it work better for me.

That response from Kubota doesn't sound like a well thought out engineering 'fix' to the machine when travelling on uneven terrain. Does that mean we should mainly stay on even ground? Sorry, but Kubota's response doesn't make a whole lot of sense. AND, if X-1100's start having rear wheel issues, the noise will not be music to the Orange Corporations ears.

Well I guess I will have to take mine off and investigate it myself.

My Camoplast Tracks came in today and it requires removing the lower Knuckle Pin and replacing it with a nut and bolt when mounting the anti rollover mounting plate to the lower control arm.
Not sure when I will get to this but rest assured I will check everything out and see what might be done about this.

Prime,
Ask your dealer to ask the rep what happens if the rear hub dose not have that movement. Curious to know what he would say.

I don't understand this at all the slack in the rear wheels does not help on uneven ground side to side play would and is creating a safety issue when fully loaded and torque on the machine by premature wear.

Independent rear suspension IRS is what makes it ride on uneven ground real well just like so many other manufactures have out there. And there machine do have play like this.

All I can say is if this doesn't get fixed and soon I am done with Kubota and I will be on here and every other tractor forum

SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS THAT KUBOTA IS JUNK!!!! AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! ON THERE RTV X SERIES. THIS IS STARTING TO PISS ME OFF. :14_6_12::14_6_12:

That's kind if the same thing my dealer told me yesterday (and many of you disputed when i mentioned it) when he picked mine up. Sounds like that will be their excuse. Mine is to be looked at tomorrow and returned to me Thursday or Friday. He told me if possible he would have the rep come with him so he could explain it to me.

I am definatelyninterested in what you find pop.

I am sorry to hear about the reply from Kubota, that really sucks. A company who doesn't stand behind their product is worthy of any sense of loyalty from their customers or should I say future competitors customers.

That reply will likely get Two Guns bleeding from the nose, just before he boils over. lol

Amen to that!!! That's what we need in this country less political correct people and real people who aren't afraid to tell it like it is and speak there mind!!

Them there are my kinda of people no :bsflag2:

.... So in other words, Kubota is saying, " It is what it is" !!!

PrimeTime327, and others who have the X-RTV with this problem.
Is there anyway, one of you can get their response in writing from a Kubota Rep, or from Kubota Corp. ....... On their letterhead ?

This is serious. I am beyond pissed !!!
Please do what you can do to get this.

, Well, It sounds like that they are trying to sell us a load of bull crap..... Well , I'm not buying it Kubota. I guess I have bought my last orange machine .. you had such a good thing going... good reputation , loyal customers.... and now you are throwing it all away ...........
Like Two Guns says.. Get it in writing! collie

Dont know if you made any payments on it but personally if no payments were made i wouldnt pay on it and let them repo the POS and be done with it.Fot the money you spent you shouldnt have to deal with BS like this IMO.

I can't remember if you already had them replace the parts once or not, but if not I would ask that they replace the parts just to see if all is the same. Something just don't sound right. Good luck.

I had an issue a few years ago with my new Polaris - was getting same type of run around from the dealer and Polaris corporate. Had an attorney send them a letter and within a week Polaris attorney called my attorney and said they would pay for the repair ($1600 worth) plus my attorney fee -

So I would try to get something in writing from dealer or Kubota rep stating that this is a normal and intended part of your unit - then, if and when it fails, demand they pay for repairs - if not have an attorney contact them.

It is a shame to have to go to that extent but I am afraid all of these big corporations just do not care about customer satisfaction

Yep, that's basically what they're saying Two Guns!

By trade im an occupational safety and health consultant and I work in various work site environments from pipelines to refineries and they all have one thing in common, Hazard Identification (OSHA)!

1. Hazard Identification is just that, identify any and all hazards before anyone is exposed to it.

2. Engineer the hazard out.

3. If unable to engineer the hazard out then appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

4. If PPE doesn't offer the required protection then a "Lock Out - Tag out" must be implemented. In other words, work shuts down or in my case the X-1100 is parked!
So, is KUBOTA protecting us, the consumers? ... Don't think so!

If OSHA is protecting the labor force at work and I have a Kubota RTV-X1100 with a known defect am I putting my coworkers in harms way?
If something happens and someone gets hurt will I be held responsible or will KUBOTA accept liability? ...Don't think so!

I will be making another 150 mile trip tomorrow to pick up my X11 with an sick feeling in my stomach. To think that I have a super nice Buggy and in the back of my mind I will always be listening for the next problem to arise!

I will ask for a detailed written explanation tomorrow, you can bet on that!

Problems always start out like this. First they deny there is a problem. It will finally get to someone high enough that has the power to do something.

Get your problems documented.

If you have one with noise,,,make sure you do not sit and wait for everyone else to get it done for you,,,add your voice to the complaints. It will take a number of people before a fix is put out.

If yours does not make noise,,,go ask why, and if it will be covered when it starts,,,,just to add to the number of concerned people questioning the problem. They pay attn to numbers.

I will help by informing my dealer that i cancelled my intention to purchase a new rtv because I heard of this problem. Everybody can do this,,,,,

I posted in the other thread also but took my machine apart today and dissected all parts.

I think we will be ok. I will post picks and explain later when I have more time.

Well, I finally got my oil inpregnated bronze bushings in today!
I hope to have good news tomorrow after replacing Kubota's rubber bushings.
Thanks,

Gary

Prime
Glad you got them. Please let us know how it works out and what the Pn# for them are and what they cost. Also if you have to do any modes to the bushing or if there remove and replace.

Thanks for doing this for everyone in advance. Oh and lots of pictures.
