dont know why they are so much at Massey
I am looking for filters for my MF 1840 E ones that i can buy the at a better price that MF

I'd check e-bay. Here's a hyd filter (still pricey).
If you can get the part number from the filters or a manual, many automotive stores have cross reference charts that will give you other/compatible filters.
