Are you referring to the abrupt stop you get when you let off the gas pedal? If so, that's the way they're made. There's a couple options. Once you get used to the machine, you can train yourself and your foot to feather off the pedal gradually which will reduce the abruptness. There's also what's called a "coast valve" that will remove this abrupt stop altogether. Search for "coast valve" on this site. There's a lot of threads on it.

hi there thanks so much for your help.
ye its savage when you brake on gravel it skids all the stones in the yard and have to rake again.where is the coast valve situated cheers.
