Where did you get the remote control for your RTV???:yum::yum::yum:

No driver, sitting on the lazy boy plowing with the remote would be fun.

Weight for Snow Plowing

For me the weight of approximately 300-350 lbs. seems to work fairly well. I did put chains on the rear this time around. I tried to push the snow banks back as far as possible prior to the storm. I'm in fairly good shape, except another 4 inches of snow is forecast, not sure I got any place left to put it. Can't wait till I buy a John Deere 2320 tractor with bucket loader from my brother. Next year I will have additional equipment to push back the banks when needed.

I'm a lightweigt compared to what some of you guys are pushing, however, MY little 900 with the standard Curtis blade and electric lift has and is working really well for me. Most of my plowing can be done without reversing. Only had a couple times where shifting was an issue (And a bit of help via Spun Haulers adjustment tips cured that) Also doing the neighbors drives down to the main road. Originally planed to get some V-Bar chains from Robin for my worksite tires, but after I put a set of Grim Reapers on, have been plowing in two wheel drive 98% of the time. And it rides better in all conditions then the
worksites did on blacktop~~~~It works for me~~~~~~KOBE

I put about 400# of tube sand in the bed right up tight to the cab.
I use this and studded tire chains for traction.

I have the Curtis plow but have modified it to add another 6" to the height of the moldboard and I've added Beyer snowplow wings which add another 20" to the width. It works well for me now, before the wings I thought I had made a big mistake... (Pics of the mods are in the link below)

Great job on those wings. Would not be an advantage to me as I have to navigate beteen eight foot gates. Looked at your tool box a few months ago and really liked that also. You now have a mold, so you should market a few. The one from bota is about as useful as Obama's insurance plan.~~~~~~~~~~~~~KOBE

Thanks, Those wings have made all the difference in the world. They need to be modified a bit to mount on the smallish curtis moldboard but they do work.

That tool box was a major PITA. it works great and fits like a glove but it took me FOREVER to make. Mostly because I was using a 2 part urethane that I got from work that is really runny. I imagine that using a more viscus epoxy might work better.

For the time I had into it I would have been much better off buying the Kubota one, but I ended up making it over a weekend where I was laid up and sick. So I really didn't have anything better to do.
