How did you clear snow from the big storm?

We got 20-24" Friday night.
I spent 8 hours straight on Saturday moving snow. Loader on the front, blade on the rear.
A lot of the time was goofing off. The kids like snow piles so I made a couple piles. The picnic table on the left side of the first picture puts it to scale.

I took my scraper blade off the back of my JD790, needed to put on ballast box. It proved better to sacrifice the rear blade for the extra weight. Spent 6 hrs on Sun and 2 hrs Sat, clearing neighbors driveways. Used the FEL, 60" bucket, dipping it as I went through. Would have loved to of had a 3pt snowblower, but, I was told that low reverse is still too fast and that there tends to be alot of clutch ride.

Great pics bczoom Thanks , The comparison to the Picnic table perty much tells the story , Lots of You folks got hit perty hard & it aint over yet .
We,ve had nothing near that bad here . Around 7 to 8 inches last week . Biggest problem was the winds & drifting . I just use the loader bucket to push & pile it , When it gets to big of a pile I,ll use the box blade to shove it back some .
Its been snowing perty good here since Sunday morning , But the temps make it hard to tell how much we got as its above freezing . But I,m only guessing around 6 inches or less . I,ve never seen this wet or heavy of a snow myself .
I dont really need to move the snow this time out . But Our Ice storm damaged trees from a few years ago I,m concerned with because they are so heavy & not in the best of shape . So with the winds were having in the last few hours is My main concern , as There hanging right over the house & outbuildings . Kind of perty though . Heres a few pics from earlly this morning . everyone stay safe . Bob

I used (or will use as the case may be) solar energy to clear mine. We had so much rain on Friday and then so little snow on Saturday that I didn't even bother to clear it. Maybe I jinxed myself though. I still had Christmas decorations in the loader from where I took them down. I went out and put them away. Put air in my 3 tires that are leaking (note to self: have to get these taken care of) and plugged the block heater in. We didn't even have 2" on the ground. Maybe the storm tomorrow will give us enough so that I can clear some.

3 pt blower is about worn out. I blow the snow out to the east and the wind blows more in from the west.
At first I thought it might be because you are near (or in) the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Does the blade toss the front sideways very much being that for out front?
I have a 54" blade with a tractor mount that I bought at auction for $8. I could imagine hooking it up just like you did. Is there anyway you could snap a few closer pics of the pins connection inside the bucket? When you get time. I would love to see them.
