here are some pictures of a headache rack I made for a buddy.it was on his little Nissan pickup but he bought him a new dodge dually and wanted it stretched. I asked him if he was in a hury for it and he said no .I took my time and used my imagination . I stretched it and buffed the paint from the two horse shoes and added a 3rd shoe to the middle from a clydsdale.i cleaned them off real good and used 20
5 bronze brazing rods to coat them with a good layer of bronze then I grinded them down and polished them.for the middle of the rack I drew a horse on some 3/16 plate and cut it out .then I took my mig machine and welded all the lines for the horse main and eys and other details on the horse that I wanted to stand out.i put expantion metal behind the horse and up in the top so he can put some lights up there and they would e protected.after I done all that I put a thick coat of bed liner on it. the next step was to run a flapper wheel with my grinder over the horse so it would take the black paint off all the raised details and make them shine .then I came over the whole rack with a clearcoat to make the horse shoes shine and also so that the buffed shiney raised parts on the horse head wouldn't rust and that they would stay nice and shiney. he is gonna come by tomorrow and we are gonna install it on his truck and i'll take the final pic of it installed. all together this project took about 100+ man hours from start to finish.
