Cut some standing dead Oak because it was a beautiful day here in Northeast PA. Kubota just keeps on impressing me.

Xtrooper, good job!! I finished mine late last year, we had two truck loads, about 18 cord once it was all split. Hauled it all to the wood sheds using the RTV 900. The RTV seems to hold about 1/4 cord...

Aren't you supposed to have snow this time of year?

man das show is alot of wood.i do half that every year at the most.one year i nearly had about that much ans swore up and down never again.i made the mistake of loaning my trailer to a guy who had a tree cutting buisness and he agreed to drop off all the wood at my house.i finally had to wake up early one day just so i could catch him and tell him no more wood please.i use my log splitter and sit down and split a few logs a day then i supply the family members with firewood for the winter and what ever i have left over i sell it cheap just to get rid of it.it's definalty a job i wouldn't want to do full time because even with a log splitter thats alot of work.

Trooper X,

Looking at the lengths, I'm guessing you're tossing that into a furnace (indoor or outdoor). Am I right?
I wish I could use 24" (or so) logs like what it appears you have. I need to keep under 18" in mine. :(
How much do you burn a year? I couldn't use this year as a template since it's already into January and I only fire up the stove(s) evenings as it's too warm. I'm used to firing them up in October and they burn 24/7 until March or April.
In a normal year, I burn about 5 full cord. That's 15 face cord for those that measure in face cord.

Long Black Ram - I am really happy with the sides on the dump body. I have no idea how much I can haul, but many times this summer I had the dump body filled to the brim and the trailer filled to the brim and had a bit of a time getting the load out of the woods. Very wet, almost got stuck going over a low stone wall, had to engage the rear posi-track. Just love this machine.

Got the trailer through my bro-in-law (about the best brother in law in the world). He runs a small excavating company. He really takes care of me. He knew a guy who had the trailer. He worked a barter deal (it's something he often does). It was rough looking and rusty. I cleaned it up and put the wood sides on it. It works great.

bczoom-Wood is mostly 16 inches (pics are kind of deceptive) Really enjoyed myself this year. Just had the carport/woodshed put up this July. So, of course being anal, I busted hump to fill it up this year. It is 26X18 and is filled up between 6-7 feet. Wet year and tough to get in the woods. I cut on many neighbors property and make sure not to tear up the turf, so a lot of waiting to make sure I don't damage the ground. I cut a lot during some very high temps and learned to really hydrate! Hard physical labor, but loved it!

Just something about a full wood shed that warms the cockles of my heart.

Oh and warning, just learned how to download pics from my digital camera, so will probably post more "action photos" since I have enjoyed so many of all of yours over the years!

Respectfully

X Trooper,

Must be pretty warm there if that is all you burn for 2011/2012. Do a google search for "1800 hammonds plains road halifax nova scotia" and see what I burn for one year LOL

Hey xtrooper,

If your looking for your shoes, they are on the ninth run from the left, pile of wood.
Just in case you misplaced them >>>>>:tiphat:

Shoes out on the wood pile for a reason

Excellent eye Two Guns. Trapped a skunk and dispatched him. That is why the shoes (and other articles of clothing) are out on the wood pile not in the house or the garage. Mrs. XTROOPER is a good sport, but not THAT good!

You realize I am only kidding as I sell firewood as part of my business.

For years, and still do, help fix nuisance animal problems.

Worked with hundred and hundreds of alligators, skunks, coons,
wild hogs, snakes , just about anything in the south that has caused
folks troubles. Even nuisance people, but we will not go there.

Seriously, Do you know how to take care of a skunk, and not get sprayed ?
( and I don't mean let somebody else do it either .... ha ha ha )

They do have skunk traps, but you still take the chance of getting sprayed, or him spraying inside the trap. They even have remote control traps, but there you go, got to deal with a stinky trap if he does it.....

It's like charming a snake, gotta have that touch, and go really slow with a white bed sheet !!!!
After all these years, Never been sprayed catching skunks like this , come close, but not yet.

Nope, this is no joke ...

Don't want the skunk to see you at all. Put the sheet in front of you, holding it up, blocking yourself, and walk up
to the live trap. Slowly lay sheet over trap. With the sheet over the trap,
grab the handle, the sheet will be over the handle. And transport it.

NOTE:
Don't use a plastic tarp ! ( Makes to much noise, they will spray at noise )
Use white or baby blue sheet. ( Color settles them down much )
Move slowly, the less noise, the better, don't talk to anyone while covering skunk !!!!

There you go !!!!!:harley:
