Full Time in 4WD

I keep our RTV in 4WD all the time while on the property. When we go for a ride on the township roads, I'll switch out of 4WD.

Anyone see a problem with keeping it in 4WD while 90% of the time on soft ground around the farm?

I rarely engage the diff lock.

With the exception of just excessive general wear and tear on your drive train and lower fuel efficiency, I don't see why you couldn't.

It isn't meant to be left in 4wd all the time.

In all my 4WD machines, I always keep it in 2WD until I really need 4WD.
Driving in 2WD lets me do my business until I exceed what it can handle (loss of traction). 4WD is what I use to get me out of the mess.
If I drove in 4WD and got stuck, the easy solution (going from 2WD to 4WD) to get out is now gone. I then have to resort to winching or getting a tow.

2WD is a lot less stress on machine. 900X rolls and handles more freely in 2WD. Just my 2 cents worth.

I am in 2wd most of the time. It might surprize you have far you can make it in just 2wd. I have the same soft Meigs county mud as you and I get by most of the time with just 2wd. I have a couple hills I don't even try in 2wd cause I don't want to tear them up. So I bump into 4wd then, but just for the hill then back into 2wd.

I like the better turning radius when out of 4wd .
