That does not at all look "stock" to me.
In that configuration:
A) All exhaust blows in the operators face. For regular/farm use, that would have royally sucked.
B) It's showing a 6-cylinder which wasn't stock back then. As I recall there was a 6-cyl conversion available but don't think it was offered by Ford. Do a google search for "Ford 8n 6 cylinder conversion kit" or "Ford 8n funk conversion". The latter is what I think they called it.
Just stumbled onto this thread. Here's my contribution. It's an '84 model that I bought 3 years ago. Diesel, 8x4. I had to rebuild the front axle swivel and put in new king pins. New clutch. New rear tires. Rebuilt Injector pump. Rebuilt 3pt lift cylinder. I use this tractor a lot, putting 400hrs a year on it. Takes a lot of small task pressure off the bigger tractor.
