some parts are not interchangeable, someone told me that the w-6 was that of made before 2006,dont know if that is what it is,but looking to see what is the better of the machines, since the owner of the company has told me he likes them, and is thinking of getting more of them!
Clueless, I did a google search finding that Kubota provides some information on their website, although I believe they made mistakes on their website. Kubota states that the W6 was produced from '06 to '09. Didn't find anything on the W.
Today you can still find some W 09 which were produced thru 2010. Kubota is producing the XT which is available in the GP, W, U, & S versions.
On a related note, did they add the "6" or "9" designation to the VIN? The RTV's serial number is one digit shorter then other vehicles which caused problems when people went to register them (in States that require it).
I think Sarg is thinking about the Deere gator in regards to the 6 wheels- there are a few out there.
On the Kubota RTV, just have your serial # handy and the good parts people will figure it out. When I ordered my stop solenoid for the "05, they ranged in price from $ 97 to $150 just depending on the serial #- Back then, that company I ordered from had those designations and serials numbers listed with the < or > symbol indicating a change in production at some point. bordercollie
seeing the pictures of what a 4 wheel rtv can haul i would think that if they ever did come out with a 6 wheel rtv it would be a beast. also with the rtv having a hydraulic system adding a set of hydraulicly driven rear wheels would be pretty simple.just put a ram system to raise and lower the wheels when needed and run them with hydraulic motors like the bobcat and it should do very good.don't think the rtv could handle running them full time but in a as needed basis i think the rtv system could handle it.
ive seen the rtv 900 w6-a and rtv900 w6-h.plus the 1100 has a cw-h .wonder if that is a difference..
also the gators we have a few. once you get them deep in the mud/water, the belt starts slipping and youre done. plus it wears the belts out quick. drove a few, they tend to push when steered, basically no suspension at all, plus the front end is light. freaky to say the least. we have the 6wheel versions.personally dont like them!
a belt enclosure would stop the slipping belt but if they was to make the second set of rear wheels retractable when not needed it would be alot better. just like the dump trucks with the extra set of wheels that drop down when needed.
must be something to do with that. but oh well, just as long as i can get parts for them, were alright...i think one of the 07's is a w6-h.s/n are in the high 6's. the last one is in the 8's.
