So now I'm unsure of my direction,
2 engines
I brand new engine literally but sat an got some water in a cylinder, unfortunately it got pitted.
Its hard to see if I can just buy a set of sleeves,an put them in an re ring it an be back to perfect or does it have to be bored by a machine shop? If so I'm just going to put the head from the new engine onto my old engine an im back un the races.im hoping I can just sleeve the cylinders.if someone here knows great,if not I'm will have to check with kubota I guess next week.my older 04 engine.d902 looks like by eye there are sleeves.my new 2019 d902 its hard to tell.did just the older engines have sleeves mayb an the newer ones need to be bored? Inquiring minds need to know, actually just mine i think.

pretty sure there aren't any sleeves. get on messiks website and look up your model and serial number in the parts book under the engine category to see if sleeves are offered for rebuild. look to see if oversized pistons are offered before you machine it also because without them it is a waste of money unless you have a shop bore it and make a sleeve for it. probably can buy a block cheaper

Thanks,I'm passed that point now.it does have no sleeves these particular models. Has to be bored, but because my 04 block still has cross marks in the cylinder wall an in good shape,I just had messsicks send me a new set of standard rings for all 3 pistons.im honing my cylinders ,just a quick couple passes an using the rods, bearings, pistons, cylinder head, lifters, cam, pushrods from the new engine an put it into my o4 block.all same specs.im leaving my crank as it only got 2500 hours on it.also put the new govenor, injection pump,an gear cover from new engine to my 04.saying new I mean its a brand new 2019 engine from kubota.there was a pallet of these that got flooded an were sold as a lot at auction my friend ended up with.very sad looking at a brand new 5k plus engine an having to tear it apart lol.but with a little labor,I will have a brand new engine now for under 700$ .400$ he charged me for entire engine,an 300$ for new rings.also head gasket I forgot to add in. I have all this on a YouTube channel I started for this project.check it out if ur interested.i will be posting more as I go.its 82deeds72 or type in kubota rtv engine swap.
Thanks again,
Derek
