Well after selling my perfect jeep so I could buy a rtv to help me work,I spent all I had on this supposed to be "runs like a champ" an "frame is fine" 04 kubota rtv 900 that was also sold to me as a 2011 come to find out its none of the above.im retired an live on my check .after finding all these problems an just trying to stay positive an just learn from my mistake of trusting this person with a handshake I continued to just buy one thing at a time as I could.
An I still have not got this to run im literally sick to my stomach texting this message sounding so bad an like a baby.i fix everything myself, always have.an I'm stuck for first time in my life an need help.
Alternator almost 300$
Belt 20$
rim because it had a rot hole through it.
150$
4 tires scored 200$
Head gasket an freeze plugs 170$
Frame repair im doing but its so bad will take me a week.i will post photos as I know everyone likes pics, unfortunately these aren't nice to look at,especially from my eyes.
Now I just removed the cylinder head so I could replace the head gasket, an just to find it cracked.

I have been beat, I have nothing left but myself to offer help or a trade,
Does anyone have a d 902 cylinder head that will please trade my help in anyway I can for the head.i apoligize truely for asking this.I have never in my life asked for anything besides advice.I truely have nothing left to offer but my labor.
I recently (2 years agao) retired after 22 years as a welder fabricator when I got my head crushed in between the mass an the roll cage of a forklift.i recovered after a year went back to work as I loved my job an enjoyed being there.I still had issues from my injury an was told because of insurance liability i had to retire.with that I sold my home an small shop I had at home, to purchase property ,a small sawmill,an a small bulldozer off grid an build my own 600sq foot log cabin to live in the rest of my life.its just me an my cat so it was not a hard choice..well my cabin it dried in an I bought this utv to help me get up an down my driveway an to get firewood as many other things.
I'm writing all of this to explain im not just some lowlife jerk trying to get something for nothing,it most certainly not the case.i have done all I did alone, zero help at all. I'm hoping that someone will have a old head in there garage that could part with it,an if local to north east rhode island area currently at my parents where I came to purchase this utv an planed on bringing it back to my cabin in maine until I found all these issues so I'm staying here where they have a small garage for me to try an fix this as I havnt had time to build anything to work in in maine yet.its tough enough up there not having a kitchen or even indoor plumbing at the moment yet alone try to do this work outside.as I said I'm really hoping someone will have a used head for me.
Its a 04 kubota rtv 900 diesel with the d 902 engine.
As I said I will post all the pics I can an thank you all for even just reading this if you made it this far.
Godbless,
Derek

I speak for myself but, knowing most of our members for a number of years, I'll venture that no one here thinks you are a low life jerk. You are an upstanding person in need of help. I hope someone here can help you. Look for the post of the RTV that is being parted out. He might have some goodies for you.

The person who sold this RTV to you and lied about everything has earned the title a low life jerk. I hope there is a way you can recover some or all of your money from him. I know it's not likely but it's worth a shot. Good luck with everything.

My RTV would overheat, climbing hills. Pulled the head and found a head crack for the center bore.

The eBay seller pleaded innocent, said he would find a replacement. Of course that never happened.
I discovered that a seller can delete negative comments, for purchases not paid by PayPal.

I believe eBay kicked them off their site, due to all the complaints. They are now selling on Facebook marketplace.

Used parts for these are scarce, but new heads are available for less money than Kubota retail.

I hope you are still attempting to go after this scumball, piece of lowlife.
Someday, he will regret his actions or at least when he meets his Maker for sure.... wishing he had made this right but... will hear the words " sorry, I never knew you" and then you know where he will be.. weeping and gnashing his teeth for the eternity .
I wish I could help with parts , but I no longer have an RTV. ( Sold it and bought a Roxor)

Thank you,I gave up on him,its not woth my time an aggravation an I trust on karma,I had the papers I filed pulled,an got my filing fee back .but that was right before I found a bad head an was upset I did that.but from so many nice people an the brand new engine I just recieved, even know I have a lot I need to swap, including cam shaft😪 ,an still completely repair the frame,I will get by an just keep moving forward,an like I said trust karma.i also will keep checking marketplace an make sure he sells nothing else .thank you for your message.i need to order a actual manual for this because there is so much now with cams, valves an I can't wing this anymore an keep bothering people here with everything.im just surprised that both motors, same type dont have same cams to run the power steering..having to disable the entire front of the engine an pull a small cam just for steering pump is crazy.

The RTV repair manual I had wasn't very good .. If I remember right, it was just not detailed much at all. If I still have it on cd, I will send it to you for free. I'll look this weekend. Remember that Messick's Equipment has a good website and if you put in your information, can view detailed part diagrams for free. Very nice counter folks there. I ordered from them in Penn, even though I'm in Mississippi.

Thank you very much,I just posted a YouTube video today explaining all im doing as well as some real NEW INFO going against everything I have seen an read so far.i proved them all wrong.check out my project an tell me what you thing.its 81deeds72 on youtube.i posted it today on my engine swap.
But I have some real technical questions I'd like to ask people an talk about here, but I'm not sure where to post it,if you could lead me the right direction.it has to do with the power steeringbpump that runs off of the injection pump cam...I'm wondering if I can illuminate that pump an run the power steering directly to the back pump that runs the dump bed an other optional equipment?
I don't see why not,as far as power your not really steering when your operating the dump bed (too much) anyway.so that should not be a problem as far as taking away from the power of the pump.its made to run options,so why not power my steering from it? Reason being is on my video.let me know what you think.im going to make another video right now asking this question too.i love getting into this stuff. I have no choice anyway now.
Thank you very much again.

Do a search in the RTV forum section for key words. Click the option to search titles only. If you don't find a thread on the subject, feel free to start a new one. Please put key words in the title so it's easier to find for the next person.

Thank you
I'm to the point now where I need to know if mine has sleeves or needs to be bored.im hoping I can buy sleeves throw them in with some rings an start going back together.cheap enough.if it has to be bored well its machine shop stuff an then I will just be putting the head from the new engine on my old engine an put it together.

Since you were gifted with a new engine, at a rock bottom price, I would go with that.

If you decide to swap the head check the engine deck for flatness first.
If bore scoring is minimal I would not go through the expense of machine work.

The center bore of my engine was scored a bit, it doesn't smoke, top off the oil about every 50 hours. Maybe uses more oil compared to a new one, but not much.

Before you pulled the head...if it didn't smoke or make odd noises it should be good as is.

Too late an deep into it the new engine at some point had water get into the cylinder an it stayed there a while, its pitted beyond running ,believe me if it was even a chance I would have.omg its so nice seing a engine inside an out literally brand new!!! Except that dam water in one cylinder. Its a dam shame.but im using the new head, just put my old engine on the stand an pulling pan an one rod cap tommorow. If all looks good,I'm sending it.
I have a bunch of videos posted on yourube.an will be doing more on this.check it out. Its under 81deeds72 or type in kubota rtv removing engine (without removing transmission an rearend) i have a bunch of this job on my channel.
Thanks again very much

I did finally find the cd on the RTV 900 that I had but see where Armyaviatr :tiphat: found and provided a link to a manual for the RTV- That's a great share and will help many folks .

Yes,I have downloaded that but what I really been looking for is the entire breakdown service cd manual as the service at.kobuta would have.i need the engine breakdown particularly! D902 .as I'm in middle of 2 of them complet disabled..

Page 79 of the WSM is the engine section. Unless Kubota has specific engine manuals, that is as good as it gets. I have a BX2680 and a RTV X1100 and the engine sections of both WSM's look almost identical to what is in the RTV900 WSM in the link I sent. Here is a WSM specifically for the 05 series engines:
Also here is the engine page from the Kubotabooks site:
