Christmas Back Then

TWO GUNS

Senior Member
Back in your younger days. Not necessarily what you got, but what did you really wish for
for Christmas.

I wanted a Slinky ( that was a metal spring toy that done nothing special ), little army men with army truck, and best of all, I wished for a gun set, the one with two guns and holsters, of course......

..... jamie

Archery set, guitar and a Huffy Thunder Road (first kids BMX bike made?)

I wanted a Johnny seven when i was younger. I had big ideas then:wall:. I had great fun with that for a long time. Imagine them trying to sell that today.

i used to like the music and lights now we got every new singer trying to redo the old songs when they really should be left alone. i like the familly get togethers when everyone took turns going to each others house and having big get togethers .me and all my cousins would have fun running around playing and the adults would sit around doing thier thing it was so much nicer years ago.now it's just about what you gonna get and brack friday specials. i even went caroling one year thats something you don't hear or see anyone doing anymore. the smell of the fresh cut tree in the living room was really nice too but now it's all plastic trees .christmas just isn't the same anymore now it's just about money and the fear of getting robbed on your way to your car when doing any kind of christmas shopping.

Jesus, look at that grenade laucher. You had that weapon, you was the man !!!!

I remember the best of times going to our cousins house every Christmas eve. We would eat supper around their big table and we had a blast. After supper and it was dark, I remember my older cousins dancing to songs like "American Woman", and the cousin my age and me dropping toy soldiers through an old pipe hole in the floor and then trying to fish them out. Tied a fire cracker on a few and threw them out in the cotton field behind the house too, those were some great times alright. Then on the way home that night, I would drift off to sleep with my head in my folks lap and I still remember seeing the old tube radio glowing in the car on that trip. How about the smell of oranges, peppermint and nuts - that a memory I can recall easily especially when I hear Brenda Lee singing "rocking around the Christmas tree."
I wore out the Sears Wishbook looking at all the stuff there. The best answer would be what did I not circle -.. I always wanted a rockum sockum robot set . ( remember- ahh you knocked my block off") ? No, I didn't get that but I did get a few of the Johnny West action figures and a few of the plastic ponies over time. One Christmas we got a cotton candy maker and about wore it out. :) bordercollie

Don't know if they are still available now or not but clear toys were very common at Christmas years ago.
