Cargo light

I know i have been posting several questions but i have been on vacation and i have a new toy. What do some do as far as wiring in a rear cargo light, i can replace the headlight rocker switch with one so i can run headlights and led clearance lights that i installed on one position the go another click and make all that and the cargo light come on or would it be better to put the cargo light on a toggle by itself.

Hi Whatscookin, The older 900's likes my "05 model have a plug taped up all ready for the front and rear lights in the wiring harness . It is near the fuse box I believe. I don't remember right now which one it is which but the plug is already grounded and ready to go. Just untape it and fold it out and see about plugging your light in. I used to use my kubota factory add ons but the metal brackets on front finally fatigued and broke from the vibration. I made a temporary repail till I can get the right metal. These lights have an aggravating slide switch. So I temporally have made a rocker switch panel to control the lights, my spray rig and the foam marker I made.I wired them directly to the battery with a fuse and ground them . Then the lights ,etc come on with the flip of a switch, They are color coded and I LOVE using them. I will try to post a picture tonight. ,Bordercollie

I had a pair of OEM Saab factory fog lights sitting around for years, so I used one each on our RTV 900's. I also had a pair of Peterson clamp type bumper brackets that I used for mounts. The lights are actually Bosch, and they're bright enough for cargo and back-up use. I found a 3 position DPDT rocker switch that fit in the factory turn signal switch hole and wired it to a cheapo relay that I mounted by the fuse box. The switch also controls the dome light, which doesn't need a relay. It's been a year and they're still working fine.
