Brian, Bczoom ????

See you are doing well with the name changeing !!!!
[/quote]
Yea, I got it figured out BUT DON'T LIKE THAT OPTION!!!

I'd like to request that nobody uses that option/capability. I know y'all by your signin name. It really screws me up if/when it's changed since I then need to backtrack to figure out who you really are.

Anyway, back to fuel...

Brian/bczoom

All that gas... another reason to go to the Kubota zero turn. My pop's zero turn (gas - Great Dane now John Deere) easily eats twice the fuel and he has to slow down in the thick grass. The old diesel just lugs through it.

Can you tell I Dig Orange?

Actually, after this ZTR, I'll probably go back to a tractor for mowing. ZTR's don't like the hills I have.
I just bought and sold (in the same day) a Kubota G2160 with the 3-cyl diesel which was setup perfectly for mowing.
Oh, and my tractor is JD green [:P] (and I probably shouldn't mention the "Nothing runs like a Deere" license plate on the back of my RTV.

Hey heehaw - sorry about all the different subjects in this thread...

Hey bczoom - That Chevron site is excellent!

We have a couple of old Ford, Ferguson, and Farmall tractors for mowing and we always use the lead substitute additives. It sounds like itis a good thing that we do.

The best retail gas preservative (IMHO) is Fuel Fresh which is available at Briggs dealers. You can get a 1 oz. "pillow" or a quart. A lot of Corvette, aviation, and high performance people use it. It works in diesel as well since thecarrier is a refined light mineral oil. It is not water soluble so it won't help if there's a lot of water in the tank.

I use it in over20 engines ( a nightmare) and never had a moments problem starting them after storage. (Except for pack rat damage...a whole 'nother issue.)

There was some report along the lines that StaBil does very poorly in some of the ASTM tests for corrosion, oxidation, etc. Obviously they are aggresive marketers since they're on the big box store shelves - not nescessarily a ringing endorsement for quality.

The best thing is to try some differrent types and see how they work for you.
