Another newbie with questions. Any advice much appreciated!

I used a single axle 6 x 12 trailer to haul my RTV900 home, 12 hour drive. Worked out fine. I sure would not go smaller than that, and if possible get dual axle to increase your payload from 3500 to 7000. I do not believe that is needed for the RTV's but if you want to haul heavier stuff it's good to have.

Still working through some details....

Made an online offer on a new dual axle 6 x 12 Big Tex utility trailer.

The machine is a 2008 w/ less than 135 hours. Turbo. Rear hydraulics. Winch

I've only been able to compare pricing with what various dealers on the Net ask for similar models...and most are not turbo charged.

Anyone care to chime in on what their opinion of a fair price is (if the slow start is the only consideration and the unit is listed as "excellent coindition")? I know you guys have been following this game far, far longer than I have...so your opinion is of great interest/value to me. Most of the pricing I'm seeing is higher than this asking price but there's all of the dealer stuff in the mix so determining fair market value is a bit tricky (IMO).

thanks!

a few months ago i purchased a 2008 1100cw from a dealer. the machine had 700 hours on it and had only a radio as an accessory. it also has the worksite tires. it has hauled nothing in the bed and was used mainly as a ride around type. i paid the dealer 11000 dollars. at the dealer was the exact twin to mine from the same agency. it had 2000 hours knobby tires that were heavy worn a radio and one extra light. i saw that machine sell at auction for almost 10000 dollars. i would say the turbo is worth close to a grand and the winch probably less than 500. so my opinion would be the machine in excellent condition with the bed not showing any wear would be between 10,000 and 14,000 dollars. that is my 2 cents. i hope my being candid helps.

Turbo add on's sell for a little over 2k. I wonder who put this turbo on the unit. If dealer or factory installed I would feel better about it.

With the low hours it sounds about new. Hardly broke in. These puppies do hold their value and the year does not seem to matter a whole lot when hours are low. I would agree with the 10 to 14k price range and expect it to be nearer to the 14 than 10.

Search craigslist and tractor house for what folks are asking for similar RTV's. That gives you a better idea than our guessing. But remember that is the asking price not necessarily the selling price.

Good luck. I hope to see pictures of this baby soon. :D

just one more thing to think about on the slow start issue. it isn't uncommon for people to go cheap on the secondary air filter and not change them because it looks clean. i have seen some people overhaul an engine or replace a turbo because the inner air filter was clogged and looked clean. now mind you this was on farm tractors not an RTV,but the theory is the same. if it has a turbo then it sucks a whole lot more air than a natural aspirated engine and it is a good possibility the inner is clogged and you can't tell by looking. especially if it was used on dusty dirt roads.

Very good point sir!!!!! :tiphat:

Good to know for future service, as my dealer well be adding a turbo kit to mine.

KTAC is the Kubota insurance company and their prices cant be beat.As for trailer hauling a gingle axle will work but if possible go with a double axle just to be sure.I have an 8x12 ans it works fine for just about everything. The only issue I worry about is stopping in an emergency.ON my Old dodge ram with electric brakes I never worried but thats long gone and I drive a little chevy s-10 blazer without the electric brakes hooked up so I dont go very fast just in case I have to stop.As the trailer has been mainly on the farm for several years im not sure if the brakes would even work as they may be froze up.In a worse case scenerio if i had to move it long distance id just run a panic wire and switch to the brakes. If I need that fast emergency stop press the button apply 12 volts to the brakes and hope for the best!!!

would anyone have a price range of what Kubota charges to adjust the trans to make sure all is where it should be???I still think mine should have more power to at least spin the wheels when it gets stuck. When stuck it will rev engine but damn tires wont spin.

Thought I'd check in.

Nope...I'm not out riding in a new buggy....yet. As often happens..."Life" gets in the way of the fun at hand....

Truth be told....we are building a garage/equipment shed and that has taken the majority of my time at present. (gotta have a place to park a Kubota)

Couple that with the fact that the Trailer sales place I made the offer on the tandem axle 6 x 12 never even bothered to write me back. Not even a "Yer kidding, right?" There's a dealer who won't get another look from me...guaranteed. Such a crappy way to do business! Burns me up 'cus all I ever hear is how hard it is to be in business. Yeah...I can see WHY.

FYI...The 1100 I was looking at/speaking of is still for sale. Not sure what to do 'cus the wife mentioned "going to the Kubota dealer" the other day. Why buy used when the wife is thinking new? LOL.

I won't leave ya hanging here/will report on my purchase when it finally happens. The responses here have been great/lots of help...so thanks once again.

when it rains it pours......

hell buy new its only money youll make more.Thats the way Omama look at it spend it we can tax more so we can spend more lol

We gave up that "work" thing Mark....so making more isn't in the cards for us. We're in SPEND mode now...LOL. 30+ years in the planning....so "no guilt" either way.

And hey...if yer taxes are too high yer simply reporting too much income. >snicker<

I can't complain here....OK...other than those taxes they will stick me with if I buy a new Kubota. Definitely one reason to buy used, IMO. And if you think it sucks now wait til the Don sets you up in your sweat shop/factory job for minimum wage with no bennies...LOL. (enough politica...let's talk Kubota)

I figure I'll let the guy with the 1100 stew a bit. If he sells it before I figure out WTF I'm doing (if that ever happens)...more power to him.

still need a trailer first. Gonna go dual axle cus I'll also use it later for hauling logs

I'll report on more fun as it happens....

in my opinion the real bargain is a low hour used 1100c or 1100cw. they already have a cab with excellent air conditioning and a superb heater and they have a larger bed. it looks like adding a turbo to an 1100c would be a piece of cake also. i added a coast valve to mine and it made a whole new machine out of it. another plus it they come pre wired for all of the accessories as original equipment plug and play.
Can you open or close that valve at will?> Use it or not use it >?

Be careful when buying a trailer I just purchased this trailer a few months ago. The trailer is rated for 5,000Lbs but the expanded metal drive up gate can only handle 2000 pounds. It still works fine the Kubota weighs 2600LBS with the snowblower attached. Expanded metal where the tires contact the ramp is20201022_145304.jpg starting to bend down a little bit.
